Feeling safety in a complex world is no mean feet. Childhood, historic, or current experiences, interacting/reacting with the complexities brought about by the pandemic, can exhaust any capacity for resilience. maybe you're a parent/carer of children transitioning from the intensity of lockdown to the uncertainty of the easing of restrictions? Is this further complicated by returning to education settings for children with Autism, ADHD, FASD, SPD, trauma and attachment? Maybe you are a foster care or adoptive parent wondering how to rebalance the attachment bond after the intensity of lockdown, recalibrating interfamilial dynamics?

Updated October 2026 - I have space for one person, queer or straight, who want to know and understand their sex, sexuality, desires and intimate relationships better. I consider it a sign of bravery that you’re thinking about coming to see me for therapy. We all experience difficult and painful things in life and we all need other people to lean on, to help us through some of the more painful or challenging situations or to help us grow into kind, loving people. Working together, you'll move towards feeling better and showing up differently in the world. Together, life can get brighter.

Humanistically recognising the needs of an individual ,we see how trauma can be held at a very deep level. Working from the story of an individuals early negative & positive childhood experiences and using Integrative therapy in a number of ways to help the process of getting to one's core beliefs, helps to create a safe space for them to explore and release old patterns. This happens by building a trust with the client to allow their vulnerability to come through. Then, looking at the blocks or defences, via counselling and body Psychotherapy, a unique holistic approach to wellbeing, allows the journey back to health.

Are you tired of putting on a brave face when inside you wish the world would just swallow you up at times? Perhaps you struggle to feel good about yourself, your body or your life and carry the burden of shame, regret or frustration about this. Maybe you dwell on the past, worry about the future or over-analyse everything you do harshly and critically. Do things all seem a bit grey sometimes? You might be in your head a lot & perhaps you've learnt ways to protect yourself or cope (that may be having unintended consequences). You may understandably long for life to feel pleasurable, hopeful and meaningful again.

You are likely here because you feel exhausted, anxious, depressed, or stuck in self-doubt. Past therapy may have only scratched the surface. If your brain rarely switches off—like a browser with 100 open tabs—symptom-focused strategies won't cut the noise. I am an accredited CBT therapist, but we skip manualized fixes. Together, we map the chaos and untangle the whole system. It’s not about stopping the wave. It’s about harnessing its energy. Drawing on my own ADHD diagnosis, I appreciate that overwhelm. Standard therapy rarely 'gets' your fast, tangled mind, but that is exactly the energy we need.

Distress in life can bring about: confusion, pain, self-blame, anger, self-blame, isolation, loneliness, negative coping mechanism and many other symptoms. It is important to know that anyone of us can experience mental distress and there are several reasons why this may happen, including: trauma, difficult life events, early life experiences and biological basis. My job is to people make sense of their concerns, and find balance during these difficult times so that they can get to their optimum level of functioning again.

If you feel overwhelmed or stuck in patterns that don’t shift, therapy can help you understand and change what isn’t working. Dual-accredited psychotherapist, online and in person in Guildford. People often come to therapy when something in their emotional life or relationships feels hard to manage. You might feel overwhelmed or reactive, stuck in patterns that don’t shift, struggling with self-criticism, or finding that anxiety, low mood, or relationship difficulties keep returning despite effort or insight. Many people I work with are functioning well on the outside but struggling internally, or unsure where to begin.

When something really doesn't feel right, counselling is a space to meet the parts of us that are stuck or struggling— a place to recalibrate, reorientate, and ask the bigger questions of life. I offer sessions online across the UK and face to face in Exeter city centre, for adults navigating difficulty in life, and challenges in living well. Sessions are an hour long, and can be a single session, or a scheduled weekly or fortnightly meeting— whatever suits you.

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you’re feeling anxious, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or struggling with relationships, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you. I believe therapy is built on a trusting relationship where you feel safe enough to be yourself—without fear of judgement or pressure to have everything figured out.

Can biofeedback help with anxiety?
Biofeedback is often used to treat anxiety, including generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Anecdotal evidence and some research studies have found that it can improve symptoms of these disorders, sometimes significantly; however, studies on biofeedback have typically been small and researchers have cautioned that many have significant limitations, such as limited follow-up or a lack of a control group.

Is biofeedback evidence-based?
There is some evidence that biofeedback can effectively treat certain conditions; for example, its efficacy in treating headaches and urinary incontinence is generally thought to be well-established. There is also promising, but less conclusive, evidence that it can aid in stroke recovery or help someone manage a mental health disorder such as anxiety, depression, or ADHD.

What is the difference between biofeedback and neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that measures brain activity specifically; it is typically used to treat psychological or neurodevelopmental concerns such as ADHD, depression, insomnia, or autism spectrum disorder. Biofeedback is a broader category that, in addition to neurofeedback, also includes electromyogram, heart rate variability, and thermal biofeedback, each of which measures a particular physiological function (muscle activity, heart rate, and skin temperature, respectively)

What are the limitations of biofeedback?
While biofeedback may be helpful for certain conditions, its efficacy is less assured for others, such as high blood pressure. People with certain health conditions such as heart arrhythmia may not be able to benefit from biofeedback because their condition may interfere with the machines’ readings. Biofeedback can also be time-consuming and costly, and may not be covered by health insurance.
