I have been a counsellor for nearly ten years and within that time I have an extensive knowledge of most difficulties. I initially trained on placement for 2 years alongside my diploma within the Swan Project they specialise in Addiction and Trauma. I have successfully worked with many clients but not limited to Addiction, Trauma, ADHD, Autism, LGBTQIA, Childhood sex abuse, Childhood neglect, Domestic violence, Rape, PTSD and Eating disorders. I particularly enjoy working with neurodiversity, helping clients get diagnosis. I have my own personal journey and I feel this helps add an extra layer of empathy and understanding.

I have worked for many years helping my clients to accept themselves for who they are and how they survive in the hidden world that goes on inside their heads, the world where fear holds them back and keeps them stuck. The world we are all familiar with, the place we go when we put our heads on our pillows at night and we know! I believe that through honest exploration, reflection and acceptance of our past, we can start to accept ourselves and begin to build our self-esteem, self respect, our confidence and compassion for ourselves. We can embrace the parts of us that work and let go of the parts that don't, we can change.

We all have times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed. This can impact on our relationships and other areas of our lives. These feelings may make it difficult to reach our potential or know how to progress. Counselling offers a reflective space which is helpful for building self-awareness in order to work through past or present life challenges. I employ a flexible approach which is informed by your needs. I draw on different theories to create a style of therapy which is individually tailored to you, and your aims. I hope to provide an open and accepting, and genuinely safe and non-judgemental space to reflect without fear.

When events in life are overwhelming we can feel frozen, scattered or out of connection with ourselves. Coping mechanisms which served us at one point can become redundant & damaging, leaving us stuck in patterns of self destructive behaviour.
