I have worked with a range of clients some who have experienced shame, trauma, grief, chronic illness, neurodivergency, racial/homophobic trauma, climate anxiety, body dysmorphia, anxiety, depression and abuse. I provide a safe, contained, confidential space. I use playful, creative alternatives to 'well trodden' perspectives and directions that have become patterns within client's lives. I make links and connections and challenge some of the narratives that have developed in the client's story, communicating alternative views or emotional responses.

Hello! A very warm welcome to you. As we face these uncertain times in our world, we find ourselves coming up against many challenges that may be exacerbating our existing internal struggles. It feels more important than ever to find some sense of certainty and purpose in these difficult times. The very idea of isolation can bring on fear and anxiety, uncertainty around our livelihoods can trigger old and new coping strategies that may feel damaging to one’s self.

I’ve always been fascinated by how we, as human beings, think, feel, and find our way through life. Everyone’s journey is unique, and no matter our background, we all face challenges that can shape how we see ourselves. This mindset has fuelled my passion for my work as a counsellor.
I have a profound passion and faith in therapy. My own journey as a client has shown me the power of self-exploration and how life-changing developing self-awareness can be. Similarly, I’m a firm believer that therapy changes lives.

What a world we live in, hey? So much pain. So much drama, and heartache. Yet, also so much beauty, love, and understanding. There's nothing to do except be here now, and show up fully, living as best as we can. This is where therapy begins. It may be hard work to change your habits, or to stop your thoughts spiralling. However you may find stillness, presence and recovery. No matter what adversity you've been through, I believe that you can grow from it and gain resilience. (Please visit my website to learn more and view availability for an initial consultation).

Are you feeling depressed, confused about what you feel, ground down to the point where you feel unable to cope, or simply wishing you could talk to someone and feel understood? Individuals choose therapy for a variety of reasons and often the biggest hurdle to getting help is an inner voice telling us our problems are nothing special and we should "just get on with it". I provide a safe, empathic environment where you can talk about your concerns without fear of being judged and to provide you with the means to work out your own answers and create the life you want.

I've been counselling since 1989, and have extensive experience of working with sexual abuse and trauma, parenting and attachment difficulties, identity and relationship issues, depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss. I am committed to collaborating with you to find the resilient, hopeful part of yourself that becomes expert in managing your challenges and is motivated by the smallest signs of progress towards your preferred future.

I am an experienced therapist working with both couples and individuals. I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, bereavement, career issues and relationships. If you are a couple, you may be attending therapy to work through a particular challenge or event, to maintain a relationship that's essentially working well, or to consider ending a relationship kindly and respectfully. Whether you're attending individually or as a couple, at the start of our work, we'll identify what you want to achieve from counselling. Whether your aims are abstract or specific, we can work towards them together.

The therapeutic alliance is paramount to the way in which I work. This is the relationship that emerges between us in the therapy room. It is created by both of us, and it is where the therapy happens. The process is subtle, but deep, and once you've experienced it, there is no going back. You will move through life differently; your relationships will have a difference quality, be they with partners, family, friends, or colleagues. The cause of most unhappiness is a lack of connection. Connect and anything is possible. I can help you to reconnect and live a healthier, happier life.
