Well done for taking the first step towards seeking more support. I know finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. Hi. I'm Bex (she/they). Therapy with me is non-judgmental, kind, and down-to-earth. It's a space to focus on you. I'm trauma-led, and I often work with women, queer, and neurodivergent people. I'm neuro-queer (with ADHD), too. I'm work hard to be anti-racist. In sessions, we'll uncover what's blocking you from where you want to be. I welcome any tricky, messy stuff; you do not need to have it figured out. I work in Brighton on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, in London Bridge on Thursdays, and online.

My aim is to create a space where you can comfortably share what you are struggling with and where you feel genuinely supported, understood and begin to make changes that feel empowering and sustainable.

Online 'shopping' for a therapist can be tough. I know, I've done it. Scrolling through faces and bios. So why me? I love my job and I love to share what I have learned over the years. My approach is direct, yet compassionate and practical but evidence based. I don't do 'therapy' talk, I do 'human' talk. I also do a lot of listening. Our sessions are a chance for you to fully be yourself - with no judgement - or to find out who you really are. Together we will explore the barriers holding you back - and slowly break them down, so that you can start living right now, instead of waiting for that perfect version of you to turn up.

Sexual shame, pain, mismatched desire, the things everyone Googles and nobody says out loud. I work with individuals and couples on all of it, without the clinical distance. My approach is warm, direct, and genuinely curious about what you want, not what you think you're supposed to want.

Undertaking psychotherapy can be daunting, especially nowadays, when so many different types of therapy are available. It can be overwhelming to make that decision. In my approach, I believe that each situation is unique. Through my experience of working with teenagers and their families, as well as adults in individual and group modalities and couples, I learned to develop a sensitive ear for my client’s needs. We all sometimes struggle due to external or internal pressures or a combination. However, I deeply believe that facing difficulties with compassion and an open mind can be liberating.

Perhaps you're trying to conceive, experiencing pregnancy or loss, navigating a hormonal or chronic health condition (PMDD, endo, PCOS), adjusting to motherhood, or moving through perimenopause or menopause, you do not have to face it alone. Maybe you recognise yourself in grief, overwhelm, anxiety, birth trauma, loss of identity, relationship challenges, or feeling disconnected from yourself and your body. Together, we can make sense of your experience, helping you reconnect with yourself and move through this chapter with greater ease.

Do you feel drained and exhausted but don’t really know why? Do you observe other people around you seemingly effortlessly manage tasks that you seem unable to accomplish? Do you notice repeating patterns in your relationships or at work? Do you feel stuck? Do you feel you never found out who you really are or what you are good at? Do your passions, interests, relationships or jobs change all the time? Do you feel like you will never find out what you really want? Would you like to have more connection with yourself? Find more access to that inner voice that seems to know what you really need, deep inside?

Do you feel like something needs to change? Although everyone has their own unique reasons for deciding to see a therapist, most people will be driven by a feeling that something in their life needs to change. Maybe you have been struggling with anxiety or depression, or an addiction or addictive behaviour has started to dominate your days? Perhaps you are struggling to let go of a bad experience from your past? Maybe low self-esteem is limiting your potential? Or it could be that you just don’t feel like ‘you’ anymore…. Whatever you are facing, I can help.

Before becoming a counsellor I was a nurse for years. I know how to build connections with people and support them through painful experiences. There are events in life which need to be recovered from and I use my skills in creating a warm and welcoming, comfortable space in which my clients can do that. My clients and I often laugh, we've sat sprawled on the floor, we've sung... I want my clients to feel able to let it all hang out whatever way feels right for them in that moment. You'll lead the session but I'll be there with my perspective and expertise to help make sense of what comes up and to learn and adapt with it.

I offer a collaborative space where we can explore the themes that bring you to therapy and support you in getting a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs. I offer a pragmatic and human approach to psychological distress. I believe we all have times in our lives when we need to sit with another person and work out what is going on and how to move past it. I offer this with warmth, compassion and experience. My background is in physical health and I am able to offer a holistic approach to therapy. I have experience working with people who also have long-term physical health conditions, and am very aware of how these aspects interweave and impact on the person. I work with abuse issues and have experience working with domestic and sexual violence, to gain clarity and understanding.

Eating means nourishing ourselves. But what if its filled with fear? When our body and brain lack a sense of safety we become anxious about eveything. Maybe you find the need to control everything inteferes with your enjoyment of eating or that your body and shape are so important as an identity that you struggle to enjoy other important aspects of life. Maybe you notice a need to exercise thats becoming a personal demand rather than enjoyable. These are subtle changes that we dont always notice straight away and can be a warning signal about our relationshiip to our bodies.
