I support individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or going through a difficult time in their lives. You might be struggling with your thoughts, relationships, or simply trying to make sense of how you’re feeling. What brings people to counselling is often a sense that something isn’t quite right—and a desire for things to feel different. In our work together, I offer a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly, gain clarity, and begin to move forward in a way that feels right for you. If this resonates, you’re welcome to reach out.

I have over 4 years experience working within the prison service and with fathers seperated from children through the probation service.
I support people from all walks of life who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, trauma, or low self-esteem. Many seek a safe, non-judgemental space to talk, explore emotions, and find healthier ways forward. While my practice is open to everyone, I have a specialist focus on men’s mental health, offering a space where men can speak freely about pressures, identity, or past experiences. Together, we work towards greater clarity, resilience, and confidence in life.

I have completed extra certificates in safeguarding adults and children, child and adult bereavement, grief and loss, pregnancy miscarriage and PND, trauma and PTSD, death and diversity, anger management, islamic psychology and counselling, depression and anxiety, and domestic violence and abuse.
It is rare to find someone who sincerely and genuinely cares, accepts us without judgement, or has true understanding empathy for us. People often tell us how we should feel or how they think we should deal with our situation, not theirs. Sometimes even with conditions, otherwise we face consequences. Thinking of what benefits them, not us. Looking at things from their perspective, not ours. This can lead to pressure to handle things in a way we do not want to and being in a place we do not want to be. Living an unhappy unfilled life where our feelings are ignored and unmet. Resulting in being in a very lonely isolated place.

I am a Play therapist who works primarily with children aged 4 to 12.
It can be really hard to admit that your child is in need of extra help, but seeing someone who is not part of your family can be just what they need. They can express their anger or hurt without worrying about upsetting those close to them. This is often why children do not tell their families how they feel.

Having worked in the NHS for over fifteen years; I specialise in Psychiatric care and Neurodiversity. As a Neurodivergent therapist, I have found from practice and my research, which evidences Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy; strong therapeutic alliance with my patients; there's reassurance, safety and a sense of belonging when working with someone who actually gets you! I have worked hard to ensure therapy caters to and adapts to our brains! Techniques such as eye contact, open questions, long silences, often made me and my patients want to run away, perpetuating a belief of hopelessness and helplessness.

For over ten years I have worked as a therapist supporting both children and adults.
I specialise in trauma including childhood trauma, sexual trauma, and the complex ways these experiences can affect relationships, self-worth, and emotional wellbeing. Many of the people I work with have also experienced anxiety, addiction, or patterns of coping that no longer serve them. My role is to help you understand how past experiences shape you.

FAQ - About Child Therapy
When does a child need to see a therapist?
Children naturally experience emotional ups and downs. Sometimes, though, they need support from a professional. A child may benefit from therapy if their emotions or behaviours change significantly within a short period of time. For example, if a child usually spends time with friends after school but begins isolating in their room, further inquiry is warranted. Other areas for concern include altered sleep patterns, lack of appetite, intense anger, irritability, or hopelessness, or developmental regression in young children (bedwetting, thumb-sucking).

What can a child therapist help with?
A therapist can help with any difficult experience a child may encounter growing up, including learning problems or anxiety related to school, relationship challenges with friends or parents, bullying, intense emotions or phobias, divorce and family dynamics, or the death of a pet or loved one. A therapist can help children process their experience and develop coping skills in an age-appropriate way

What therapy types are most suitable for children?
Children can benefit from different forms of therapy, including family therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and exposure therapy, depending on their condition. Play therapy is a great option for younger children who may not be able to fully articulate their feelings. In this approach, kids play with toys and games while a therapist observes and helps the child express their emotions and develop coping skills.

Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.

How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
