Families, couples and individuals come to me with relational issues of any kind.
I specialise in relational therapy. I offer systemic psychotherapy, supervision and teaching. Regular psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes. I also offer Single Session Therapy (SST). One session of SST lasts for 80 minutes and may be enough for some people, but if it is not, you can have more sessions, the choice is yours.

I work with individuals and couples.
If you change nothing, nothing changes but it can be hard to know where to begin. I feel it starts with you being heard and valued. Having your story and your feelings witnessed and validated is extraordinarily powerful and provides the catalyst for change. You will gain a clarity and a sense of perspective as well as an understanding of why you behave in the way you do. Talking to me will feel different from talking to a friend or family member. I will offer you insights and reflections, not opinions or solutions. I am interested in you and your experiences and they matter to me, but as I'm not involved I can remain objective.

You are not broken. You may be feeling emotional pain, distress, or psychological strain, but that doesn’t mean you are damaged. These responses often reflect your strength and resilience. What you're experiencing is an emotional build-up, not a breakdown. You might be living with anxiety, depression, grief, low self-worth, or trauma. Over time, you may have built defences to cope and protect yourself. These patterns helped you survive, but they are not your truest self. Healing begins by gently reconnecting with the parts of you that have been hidden, and making space for who you truly are.

I have been lucky enough in my career to date to work with some incredibly inspiring and brave individuals who have been at a crossroads in their life. Sometimes making change felt frightening or impossible due to past beliefs, stuck patterns of behaviour or limiting thought processes. Others were struggling to move on after devastation, illness, loss or identity crisis. I believe it is a privilege to be able to guide those in need at these times due to the courage and vulnerability they show. They are asking from the heart for a new beginning - to break from the past, not feel scared by the future and live truly in the present.

At the heart of the work is the therapeutic relationship a space where honesty, curiosity and trust can develop.
Many (not all) of the people I work with look like they’re doing well on the outside. They may be progressing in their career, building a business, working in tech, engineering or creative industries and yet privately feel anxious, burned out or quietly struggling, dissatisfied or relying on unhealthy habits and behaviours. I tailor the work to you rather than applying an approach to you. Therapy with me is a process of discovery, gaining insight (“aha” moments), feeling your way through what’s difficult, and doing that work within a genuinely relational space (not AI). Insight is powerful. Integration changes behaviour.

You might feel overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break, or exhausted from trying to cope on your own. Whether you are living with the impact of trauma, struggling with addiction, or navigating the challenges of ADHD, it can feel isolating and difficult to know where to turn. My aim is to help you feel more in control, more connected to yourself, and more able to move forward with confidence. Reaching out can feel like a big step, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful and lasting change.

Couples Counselling Counsellors
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
