Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I offer a kind, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space for you to come in and talk about whatever is on your mind, whether it's things that happened a long time ago or something that's happened this past week. I'll work to ensure that you feel safe to explore whatever is on your mind, knowing that sometimes you may process difficult memories or situations quickly, or it might take some time. Our work together will happen in the way that feels right to you, and I will support you as we move forward. I'm not judging my clients, I'm not easily shocked, and I don't mind if you swear - sometimes there's really only one word for it!

I am experienced in working with clients who have experienced childhood trauma, sexual abuse, narcissistic abuse, anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties, relationship breakdowns and dissociation.
If you are going through a tough time in your life, a lot of emotions are coming up right now, and it all feels a little overwhelming - my heart goes out to you. The hardest step is often reaching out for support and I am honoured you are considering working together. Having a dedicated space to be heard, explore our inner world and past experiences in a compassionate space can offer clarity and healing. My intention as a therapist is to create a space for you where the masks can drop, your authenticity can emerge and you feel supported in slowly reconnecting to the wisdom within.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, addictions, low self-esteem, trauma, sexual abuse, relationship issues, neurodiversity challenges, and those caring for a loved one with dementia.
Are you feeling sad, lost, or overwhelmed? You might be facing relationship issues, a traumatic experience, or simply feel low without knowing why. It’s not always easy to carry these feelings alone. You may be looking for a space where you can talk openly and honestly, without judgment. My own experience of being in therapy showed me the power of feeling truly heard and accepted. That experience deeply informs how I work—with empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to creating a safe, respectful space.

I regularly work with issues such as sexual abuse, including molestation, child abuse, and rape, physical, and emotional abuse in a private and safe space.
Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who appear to function well on the outside while privately struggling with trauma, anxiety, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, or a painful sense of disconnection from themselves. Often, the problem is not simply symptoms, but years spent adapting, performing, or surviving. My work is depth-oriented and emotionally engaged. I integrate psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, existential psychology, and cultural understanding to help clients process trauma, understand unconscious patterns, and develop a more authentic and meaningful way of living.

Most of us will experience sexual and relationship difficulties at some point in our lives and yet it can still be very challenging and embarrassing discussing them. Talking to an experienced and qualified psychosexual and relationship therapist can help you identify the difficulties you are experiencing, understand and explore different ways you can overcome these challenges and move forward. I aim to create a confidential and safe place where you feel able to talk about these issues in a non-shaming way. I am a sex positive therapist and I am comfortable exploring alternative sexual interests.

If you find yourself stuck, in a job, in a relationship, in any repetitive behaviour patterns, then perhaps you are ready to start understanding why. If you are prepared and ready to explore your internal world and are committed to being reflective and honest with yourself, then you have come to the right place. Although this kind of work may sound quite demanding it is potentially very rewarding and will bring long lasting benefits.

Sexual Abuse Counsellors
How do therapists treat sexual abuse?
A good therapist will be nonjudgmental and possibly demonstrate active listening, repeating back what the client says to show that they have understood. These skills allow people to feel comfortable discussing their traumatic experiences openly. Some important treatment goals are to restore a sense of safety and to rebuild confidence. In addition to working one-on-one with the patient, a therapist might bring in supportive family members to assist the client.

Do you have to talk extensively about sexual abuse in therapy?
Survivors frequently find it difficult to describe what happened to them out loud. They can even still be in a state of denial if the sexual abuse occurred recently. It is important for survivors to acknowledge that what happened isn’t their fault and to challenge and reappraise any unhealthy feelings or thoughts as they arise. Art therapy and play therapy are useful non-verbal means of communication for some survivors.

How long does treatment for sexual abuse take?
Recovery from sexual abuse can be a long and difficult process. Some survivors are able to move on naturally on their own, given time, while others require the guidance of a trained therapist. Therapy needs vary and can range from a few sessions to months or even years. Healing from sexual abuse takes time, and everyone’s journey will look a little different.

Can trauma symptoms caused by sexual abuse come back after treatment?
As occurs in many cases of trauma, survivors of sexual abuse may experience PTSD-like symptoms long after the abuse has ceased or after an initial round of treatment has occurred. In such a case, there is evidence that prolonged exposure therapy is a useful treatment for survivors, and may be more efficacious than supportive counseling alone. While triggers may continue to cause distress, the idea is that, with time and repeated exposure, their power will fade, allowing survivors to move on with their lives.
