Something feels harder than it should and you might not even have the words for it yet. Maybe you're overwhelmed, anxious, or carrying grief you can't quite name. Perhaps becoming a parent has brought unexpected emotions to the surface. Or you're in the middle of a life transition that's left you feeling lost. I offer warm, relational psychotherapy tailored entirely to you, a space to slow down, make sense of what's happening and feel less alone with it.

Hello and Welcome, Life can indeed be difficult at times. Many are struggling with mental health in ways that are no longer manageable. Our past and present hurts, our unprocessed feelings can rise to the surface. We find ourselves thinking, feeling and acting in ways that do not reflect who we want to be. Some of us have Grief, Trauma or Addiction that we just can’t seem to work through. As a Senior Accredited Psychotherapist with a PHD(Hon), Master Degree and EMDR(Accredited), I've seen thousands come through my door, with various presenting issues and undergo genuine transformation, healing and leave with hope for the future.

I work with adults who have a sense that something isn’t quite right, even when life looks fine on the outside. They often second-guess themselves, replay conversations, feel responsible for others, or notice the same patterns showing up in their relationships and in how they see themselves. Many have spent years trying to “figure themselves out” but still feel stuck or unsure of who they are. In therapy, we slow things down, make sense of these patterns, and build a more understanding, compassionate relationship with yourself, so life feels more like your own.

Which therapeutic approach is best suited to help you understand the psychological suffering, inner conflicts, and recurring patterns you carry? Before beginning psychotherapy, this is a question well worth reflecting on. Each therapeutic approach offers a different way of understanding psychological life، how we develop, why we struggle, and how change becomes possible. Taking time to explore these approaches, through research and reading can help you choose one that truly resonates with you. That sense of alignment matters. It shapes the depth of the therapeutic relationship and the direction of the therapeutic journey.

As a counsellor specialising in trauma, I work with compassion and creativity to help you feel safe, supported, and understood. Together, we gently explore not just your thoughts and feelings, but also the deeper, subconscious patterns that can shape how you experience life today. Using a creative and intuitive approach, I invite curiosity, imagination, and self-discovery into the healing process. This allows space for old wounds to be acknowledged and released, while new ways of being can emerge. My aim is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner strength, resilience and capacity for change.

If your mind feels like it’s working harder than the rest of the world, or your relationships are stuck in patterns that drain you, you’re not alone. I help adults, couples, and families find clarity, connection, and forward momentum, especially when stress, trauma, neurodiversity or life transitions have created overwhelm you haven’t been able to shift on your own.

If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you are not in a good place. Maybe slightly off the track, struggling to make sense of your thoughts and feelings, or perhaps completely overwhelmed. You may need support, guidance, or just an empathetic other who can give you their undivided attention in a safe place where you don’t need to censor yourself. I have an MSc in psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling, and I have also trained in and offer MBT and EMDR. I work at the NHS both as an adult psychotherapist at a complex trauma unit, and as a perinatal psychotherapist working with vulnerable parents and their infants and toddlers.

Every individual brings a unique set of issues, but it's usually mental or emotional distress that leads you to seek therapy. Some short-term relief can be gained, but developing your strength and inner emotional resources can take time, so you can confront and manage your challenges.

I utilise other modalities like Emotionally Focused Therapy (Couples and Family) or EMDR (trauma) dependent on your needs.
you have ended up here... so let me just say that whatever you are going through can be surmounted... whatever need, issue or goal you have, you have all the resources you need to reach there... and I am confident that I can collaborate with you and help you get to that 'place' on the other side whereas this need, issue or goal can either be gone, managed or achieved...

Emotionally Focused Counsellors
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
