We all go through life experiencing good and bad moments, but sometimes the bad experiences can become too overwhelming to manage them on our own. Sometimes they may be a result of sudden changes which life throws at us unexpectedly leaving us vulnerable and lost in a new reality and sometimes it may be that we want to change something in our lives, but don’t really know how, which leaves us feeling stuck and helpless. If this sounds familiar to how you feel why not try counselling? Talking to someone you can trust who can listen without any judgement can be very helpful especially in these challenging times.

I am a psychosynthesis therapist with additional training in bereavement and creative expression. My practice allows for the structure of psychoanalysis, whilst welcoming the physical and spiritual way you are in the world. (You do not have to identify as 'spiritual' to enter transpersonal therapy.) It also recognises that we are interconnected. In other words, what is happening to you, involves others too, it is not all of your own creating. I also work with physical symptoms of psychological pain. The way we work with or against our physical-ness has a deep impact on the way we live our lives.

Drawing on yoga psychology and somatic awareness, I help you reconnect with yourself, build awareness, and support emotional regulation and resilience.
I support adults and young people who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Many appear to be coping on the surface while carrying far more than others realise. You may be facing relationship challenges, grief, trauma, significant life transitions, or a lingering sense that something doesn’t feel quite right. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore what’s happening, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.

A safe space to connect and be heard by another is one of the most important foundations to finding healing and wholeness. It is good know where you want to be, but you may not know how to get there or what your goal is. Through counselling, helping you to process your thoughts and feelings, you can begin to make sense of your life, and question where you are going. You may be struggling with unhealthy coping strategies and need to explore new healthy ones. Hurts and pain are a part of our lives and a space to grieve and not just be fixed can be an opening to finding hope, trust and joy again.

Initial emphasis is on finding a sense of safety within yourself and to do this we may explore somatic techniques that work with your nervous system.
You may have reached a point where carrying on as you have been no longer feels possible. Perhaps you feel stuck, overwhelmed, angry or torn in different directions. You may have tried to push through, keep smiling and appear as though you are coping, but beneath the surface you are deeply tired. You may feel alone with your sadness, worries and fears, and wonder whether life will always feel this difficult. Perhaps you no longer recognise yourself, or feel that the person you have become is not quite who you are. You know something needs to change, but you are unsure where to begin.

With years of experience, I work in a way that's personal to you by drawing on a range of approaches including body-based ( somatic) work, so that what we do together isn't just about talking, but about helping you feel the difference in your everyday life too.
Hi, I'm Lisa — and if you're here, you're probably going through something that feels heavy, confusing, or just really hard to carry on your own. Whatever's brought you here, you don't have to keep carrying it alone. I offer a calm, welcoming space where there's no rush and no judgement. Just time and room to talk, to breathe, and to start making sense of what's going on for you. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, carrying grief or loss, working through past trauma, or finding relationships difficult, including the one you have with yourself, I'm here to help you find some clarity and a way forward.

Finding the therapist that is right for you may feel a challenge, especially at a time when you may be feeling vulnerable or uncertain, perhaps facing a crisis point. This is not unusual, whether you have undertaken therapy in the past or whether this is the first time you have sought therapy. Sometimes we need help to overcome conflicts and blocks in ourselves and in our relationships that are confusing and difficult to face. I understand that you are a unique and complex individual, with many facets and aspects of who you are, how you experience yourself, and how you have had to adapt as you confront life's struggles.

Hello my name is Joseph, and I'm a clinical psychologist. I believe that healing is possible for everyone. My practice is built on a trauma-informed and person-centered foundation of compassion and the understanding that while life can be incredibly difficult, you already carry the seeds of your own resilience. Sometimes, those seeds just need a little help to be found again. Whilst I support a range of clients with diverse needs, I have a special interest in the mental health of boys and young men, recognizing the unique societal and internal pressures this population often faces.

Creative exercises, meditation, mindfulness, and somatic therapy are tools I often turn to.
I am happy for you to contact me, in whichever way you feel comfortable with, making this first move to contact someone is the hardest step of all and it takes courage. We can have a chat and you can have a think about whether you think and feel I can help you and whether you would feel comfortable to share and work with me. My method is holistic, which involves evaluating and encouraging the alignment of your complete being. Your mind, body and soul.

I have a special interest of helping adults who have unhelpful coping strategies that keep them stuck, such as eating too much or too little; drinking too much; withdrawing into themselves; &/or working harder to activate perfectionist & self-destructive behaviours. Perhaps you're questioning who you are as you struggle with such feelings & question if you'll ever feel better? Perhaps you struggle to find the right words to talk about how you're feeling & shut down if others ask how you are? You don't know where else to turn, struggle on & feel afraid of what may happen if you're not okay. You are exhausted & want things to change.

I offer a potent blend of somatic practices which is quite different to conventional talking therapy - I call it Somatic Trauma Therapy.
Do you find relationships confusing and hard? Perhaps you’re struggling with destructive, abusive or addictive relationship patterns. You may be questioning why you can't leave your partner even though they can’t or won’t love you. You may believe that you’re a bad person; question your own reality or have difficulty saying ‘no’ even when you’re exhausted. You may even feel like your body and mind are wildly out of control. I understand how difficult this can be, which is why I help survivors of relational trauma find peace within and peace with others.

Hello I’m Rosa, I’m here to offer you a space to share how you’re feeling and an opportunity to explore your thoughts too. I have experience of working in senior leadership roles and understand how stress can lead to burn out. So how do you prevent that from happening or how do you get back to feeling better? Well, therapy can help by talking through what led to the crisis and creating a plan together so you can be yourself again! So if you’re worried, feeling anxious or depressed or maybe you’re struggling with being a new parent or have teenagers or just need someone to talk to. Help is here & together we can work it out!

Somatic Counsellors
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
