I offer integrative somatic therapy that is intuitive, respectful and profoundly powerful.
Do you struggle with painful, destructive, abusive or addictive relationships? Perhaps you often ask yourself 'why are relationships so hard?' 'Why do I keep falling for emotionally unavailable people?' ‘Why do my emotions and my body feel so out of control?’ 'Why can't I say no, even though I'm exhausted and burnt out?' If so, you may be experiencing relational trauma. These patterns can leave you reeling with confusion and self doubt. They take a toll on your body, your mind and your work. But there is a solution.

Integrative believes there isn't one approach that can help, a way of working is chosen to improve wellbeing to lead a more fulfilling life.
I provide a space where you can talk confidentially and experience warmth, support and acceptance from someone who wants to see things from your perspective. Listening to what you are going through gives us both a deeper understanding, together we can begin to make sense of things which will provide relief. You will feel more able to manage and cope with what you find difficult. We can find a way to come to terms with things, explore anything you would like to be different and how to go about making that happen.

I work in an integrative way, incorporating Person Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Transpersonal theories, which means I will use different ways of working for your unique and individual needs.
There can be times in life, where we may need help to weather emotional difficulties we encounter, to gain clarity and understanding. This may be through loss (bereavement or loss of a relationship, job or life changes), stress (anxiety, depression) and relationship problems (including how we feel about ourselves). There can be many reasons why you may be seeking help and it's a brave step to acknowledge and address this, by taking the first step in looking for support.

Prior to working at ELOP, I worked as an integrative psychotherapist in the NHS with a broad range of clients.
Empathic and experienced psychotherapist and counsellor, based in the Bournemouth/Poole area. I work with individual adults of all ages and also within the LGBTQ+ community. My clients experience and bring a broad range of issues to therapy such as anxiety, identity issues, depression, relationship difficulties, and trauma. Trauma from our past often impacts our lives in the present and prevents us from moving forward or from being our authentic selves. Therapy cannot change the past, but it can enable us to move forward with increased resilience and can provide us with a solid foundation for lasting changes.

I am an integrative counsellor and trauma-informed therapist, offering a strengths based approach that supports you to better understand why you are feeling the way you are; and how to move forward in a way that works for you.
Having dedicated time that is focused on you is key. I drawn on an integrative model which means we can draw on a number of approaches and tools to help you start to feel more in control with the issues and situations in your life
It can be a great relief to be able to share your worries and stress with someone. We all struggle at times and as much as we would like to talk to our friends or family we feel unable to let them in. Sometimes we feel stuck, alone and not able to find the solution to the problem that's making us unhappy. Being able to talk openly with someone who can support you, without judgement, as you explore your feelings and the circumstances that are causing you stress can make a big difference. You will start to feel in control, see things more clearly and feel more confident to make the changes you want to in your life.

Integrative Counsellors
What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
