Finding the therapist that is right for you may feel a challenge, especially at a time when you may be feeling vulnerable or uncertain, perhaps facing a crisis point. This is not unusual, whether you have undertaken therapy in the past or whether this is the first time you have sought therapy. Sometimes we need help to overcome conflicts and blocks in ourselves and in our relationships that are confusing and difficult to face. I understand that you are a unique and complex individual, with many facets and aspects of who you are, how you experience yourself, and how you have had to adapt as you confront life's struggles.

I offer an integrative approach combining coaching, hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT and NNRT.
I work with people aged 16+ who feel anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, caught in patterns that keep repeating, or ready for something to change. Many are experiencing overthinking, low confidence or the impact of past experiences, and want to understand why things feel this way and how to move forward. Often people come to me feeling disconnected, unsure of their direction, or frustrated that despite their efforts things aren’t changing. Together, we explore what’s going on beneath the surface and begin shifting patterns, beliefs and emotional responses that may be holding you back, helping you move towards clarity, confidence and calm.

You might feel weighed down by shame, guilt, or the sense that you’re never enough. Perhaps this shows up as anxiety, overthinking, exhaustion, or repeating painful relationship patterns. You may notice yourself stuck in cycles of burnout, intrusive thoughts, or emotional numbness, wondering why you can’t just “move on.” Deep down you may long for relief, self-trust, and the freedom to live more fully, but trying to explore this alone possibly feels overwhelming. Ideally, you'd want a space where you don’t have to carry it all by yourself.

Approachable and understanding therapist, with 20 years experience of helping people with relationship, sexual health and mental health concerns. When thoughts are on repeat, or something doesn't feel right, there may not be a quick fix, but I can help untangle the emotional knots and find a way forward. I work with people to gradually understand the deeper patterns and meanings in their emotional lives. Therapy puts words to the feelings, that would otherwise remain painful or unresolved.

I blend counselling with somatic work, nervous-system regulation and occasionally hypnotherapy to help ease shame, calm overwhelm, rebuild inner safety and gain a strong sense of identity.
I specialise in supporting women who’ve been affected by emotionally difficult or unsafe relationships, as well as those who’ve experienced unwanted sexual experiences. You may feel that past experiences are still interfering with your life, maybe you feel stuck, full of self-doubt, anxious, ashamed, people-pleasing, or unsure who you are anymore. Maybe now is the time when you feel ready to address what's getting in the way and ready to step into a life you feel more in charge of. Or you may need support during a distressing time.

What might your life feel like if you put yourself at the top of your list each day? Is today the day you’ve decided something needs to change—and you’d like someone beside you while you explore what that could look like? Perhaps something has happened that’s left you thinking, “I want something different for my future, but I don’t know where to start.” You don’t have to figure it out alone. I also have a particular interest in supporting people who struggle with sleep, and I offer a safe, compassionate space to work through those challenges.

My own experience of therapy taught me that real change begins when we feel safe enough to open and trust. I know how hard that can be—especially after heartbreak, loss, or years of self-doubt. I work with clients who want to heal emotional wounds, reconnect with themselves, and build relationships that feel secure and alive. My approach blends counselling, mind–body awareness, and practical tools to help you feel grounded, confident, and more at peace within yourself.

Hypnotherapy Counsellors
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy works by using guided hypnosis to help you reach a state of focus and concentration through mental imagery and soothing verbal repetition. The state is somewhat like being absorbed in a book, a film, or your own thoughts. You are not under a therapist’s “control,” but they can help you relax and turn your attention inward to discover the resources to achieve behaviour change or better manage psychological concerns. Therapy sessions may involve guiding you through recognising a problem, releasing problematic thoughts about it, and considering and accepting more productive alternatives before returning to normal awareness. Hypnotherapy is typically used by a therapist along with traditional forms of talk therapy. Eventually, your therapist can help you learn hypnotherapy techniques yourself, so you can establish a stronger sense of control on your own in stressful or challenging moments.

Is hypnotherapy the same as hypnosis?
Hypnotherapy, which is sometimes called hypnotic suggestion, is a therapeutic technique in which a therapist uses hypnosis to help patients. It is not the kind of hypnosis portrayed in stage shows, or in movies or on television. You will not be unconscious or asleep during hypnotherapy, you will not lose control of yourself, your thoughts, or your free will, and you will be able to fully recall your experience. And while you will hear your therapist’s suggestions, it is always up to you to decide whether to act on them. Hypnosis by a trained mental-health professional is not a form of mind control, which is impossible to achieve anyway.

Can everyone be hypnotised?
The most common challenge of hypnotherapy is that as many as one in four people cannot be hypnotised. Brain imaging has confirmed differences in patterns of brain connectivity between those who respond to hypnotism and those who do not. Other people who could potentially be hypnotised may not respond to the technique because of their scepticism or resistance to entering a hypnotic state. If a therapist’s “post-hypnotic suggestion” is effective, it’s because they are suggesting something you want to achieve.

Does hypnotherapy work?
Through hypnotherapy, you can achieve changes that are real and sustainable. Like other talk therapy techniques, when hypnotherapy succeeds, it’s a case of mind over matter. Effective hypnotherapy involves self-healing because you access resources you need to change inside of yourself and learn how to tap into them whenever you need. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective therapy for anxiety, phobias, stress, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, sexual dysfunction, and undesirable behaviours like smoking. It can be used to help improve sleep or to address relationship challenges, and to aid with pain management, digestive disorders, skin conditions, and the gastrointestinal side effects of pregnancy or chemotherapy.
