Hello I am Paula and my aim is to make professional counselling accessible, affordable and convenient - so anyone who struggles with life's challenges can get help. Depression, anxiety, stress, overwhelmed are words we all hear on a daily basis when generally chatting to family, friends or work colleagues . Counselling can help us cope with those over consuming feelings. Sadly we cannot avoid trauma happening but seeking help during the trauma or even months, years later may reduce risk to further illnesses that have been linked to psychological trauma. Are you in an abusive relationship or having issues as a couple?

Do you feel stuck in an unhealthy place in your life? Are you feeling like you are just surviving rather than thriving or not reaching your full potential? If so, I believe with effective counselling you can unlock your potential and start to achieve the life you want to live. In addition, we can look at your childhood, blocks and past patterns, to help you feel more empowered in moving forward more positively. I, also, offer meditation/ inner child work upon request.

I work with individuals and couples over the age of 16, I am experienced working with issues such as: Mental & Physical Abuse, Complex PTSD, Anger Management, Bereavement, Self Esteem , Stress, Relationship issues, Narcissistic Personality, Sexuality issues.
I understand that to make that first call or email for counselling can be extremely difficult, the fact you’re here means you’ve taken the first step towards making positive changes in your life. Are you stuck, feeling lost or alone, afraid or upset? I aim to help you to make sense of your fears, worries and anxieties. Many people find it easier to talk to someone who they see as being separate to their life rather than friends or family. I can help you make sense of experiences of the past and resolve complicated feelings linked to these. Therapy can be used to better yourself, allowing you to take complete control of your life.

Or it may be that you can't quite put your finger on what's troubling you. Counselling can help by allowing you a safe, non-judgmental space to be able to start to make sense of your feelings, which can lead to change or positive coping strategies.

If you’re struggling and feel you are in need of support then it’s knowing who you can turn to for support and seek the answers you’re after. Why not consider counselling, it can help with issues from anxiety to self-harm. Counselling can offer you an opportunity to understand why you may feel that way, help your mindset change and allow you to grow and flourish as best as you want to. Children and young people want to feel as "normal" as possible and to not feel like the outsider who may be struggling. The end result is for them to own who they are. And this is possible if you want to give counselling a go for you or your child.

We’re naturally resilient, but it’s very hard to see ourselves sometimes when we’re stuck. Having another person to bounce things off of is freeing- it’s healing. So what does therapy look like? It’s usually a process of being heard, seen and cared about.  My role is in helping you tap into your own inner resources to find the answers that are right for you. I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor offering long and short-term work with adults. Counselling is a place where you can speak freely; you will also find humour, compassion and acceptance.

Anxiety, stress and depression can become a real part of our lives until we seek professional help.Sometimes life experiences can feel too much and we can feel overwhelmed in trying to understand or make sense of it all. as a result, we can feel vulnerable, confused, anxious, depressed or even just feeling low in ourselves. Therapeutic counselling is a compassionate, non-judgemental and accepting process of meeting in a confidential environment to process our experiences and find a way of moving forward. I am here to help and invite you to either call or email me to arrange an initial assessment.

If you are at a point in life where you feel stuck or at a point of crisis, and it's preventing your ability to enjoy things as you have normally, you may be needing some extra help to find a way forward. Or if one or more of your relationships with others is becoming difficult, and you don't know why, then this can indicate you are struggling. If your inner world is feeling desperate or muddled and too difficult to manage alone, then counselling can be a positive step in trying to change that. To sit and explore your story and feelings with someone can be powerful in unblocking difficult feelings and to understand what you need.

Self Esteem Counsellors
Self-esteem lives on a spectrum: Not enough self-regard (or low self esteem) can lead people to become depressed, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. Too much self-love (or high self-esteem), results in an off-putting sense of entitlement and an inability to learn from failure. And it's occasionally a sign of clinical narcissism. Quite the opposite of being shy or shyness, yet still on the same spectrum.
