I am a counselling psychologist working in the NHS, a senior lecturer and EMDR Therapist with substantial experience working with individuals experiencing a range of psychological difficulties across several settings (e.g., private settings, third sector settings, primary and secondary mental health NHS settings and inpatient psychiatric hospitals). Currently, I am only offering EMDR to individuals (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). During sessions, I tend to draw on other approaches to develop the therapeutic relationship and enrich your skills and ability to navigate distressing experiences and emotions.

Clients come to me when they are seeking deep or broad change, over a period of time. They have often tried more brief forms of therapy and this has often been helpful, but there is a wish or a need to get to something deeper. I work with a range of presenting issues, most commonly depression, anxiety and 'people pleasing', stuckness and relationship problems. What my clients have in common is a wish to understand themselves at depth, including how the past is unconsciously impacting on their present lives. This takes courage since it involves uncovering emotional pain, but this forms the starting point for change in the self.

Hi I'm Naomi, welcome to my page. I understand that making a decision to enter counselling whether for the first time or the 100th time can be a daunting task, so I ensure I centre my clients needs during their sessions, so they feel a sense of autonomy. I have experience of working with a range of clients so my aim is always to provide a warm and non judgmental space for my clients to navigate their concerns, to help reveal a sense of clarity along with building up 'tools' to help them in the present and the future.

Do you resonate? Are you someone who has meticulously constructed an impressive exterior of success while internally wrestling with a profound sense of disconnection and mounting emotional exhaustion and who has consistently prioritised external achievements over internal well-being? On the surface, you appear competent, composed, and in control, but beneath this carefully curated facade lies a complex emotional landscape marked by persistent self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and a deep-seated fear of vulnerability. I invite you to reach out. Together, we can begin a transformative journey of healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.

Many people today are successful in their careers but feel confused, disconnected or unfulfilled in their relationships. We are rarely taught the emotional skills required for healthy relationships, communication and genuine partnership. As a psychotherapist, I help individuals and couples understand their emotional patterns, develop greater relational awareness, and build healthier, more secure connections. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space where you can explore your experiences, gain insight into yourself and move towards a more fulfilling and balanced life. I work with individuals, couples and families.
