Dr Tej is Consultant Clinical Psychologist with 22 years clinical experience across Infant, Child and Adult mental health services. In her clinical practice with adults, her expertise is in helping identify and work through intergenerational cycles of trauma – or trauma with a small ‘t’, such as complex developmental trauma/family trauma/narcissistic abuse, scapegoating, chronic shame, feeling stuck not knowing how to break relational patterns. Clients she has worked with report these difficulties in the context of bullying at work, couple /marital/relationship difficulties and attachment/ parenting and birth trauma/difficulties.

I help young people age 13-20, to recognise and understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviour to express themselves meaningfully. Young people who may feel dismissed with a sense of not belonging. Or have experienced trauma at school or in the community. My work is to prevent mental health crisis and improve likelihood of success in education, employment and training. I am passionate about young people wellness and success, emphasis on young person centred approach. Over the years I have foster cross-disciplinary relationship with other youth practitioners and clinicians helping to broader my knowledge and share information.

My clinical experience encompasses many years working in a mental health setting and private practice dealing with a broad range of symptoms including, but not limited to, chronic trauma, loss or abuse, stress, anxiety, depression, marital difficulties, child- parent conflicts, self-harm, bi-polar disorder, addiction and border-line states – to name just some of the presenting issues.
