I offer trauma-informed CBT that is deeper than quick fixes.
You may appear capable and high-functioning, yet feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally burdened inside. Perhaps you overthink, carry a lot of responsibility, or struggle to rest without guilt. You might understand your patterns intellectually but still feel stuck emotionally. Many of my clients have spent years coping quietly, being the “strong one,” the “good one,” or the one who holds everything together, and are now seeking space to slow down, feel safer internally, and reconnect with who they are beyond survival.

Feeling anxious, low, or overwhelmed? Talking therapy helps, but some stress lives deeper in the body. Breathwork is a powerful, science-backed way to release stored tension and regulate your nervous system, for healing that starts from within.

Even though you have what might seem like "a good life," you may still feel a deep sense of emptiness and struggle with overwhelming anxiety and difficult emotions. At times, it might be hard to even identify what you're feeling. These challenges could stem from a difficult childhood, particularly in your relationships with your parents or siblings, affecting how you connect with others today. We refer to these experiences as attachment trauma or childhood emotional neglect. However, these patterns don’t have to define your future; healing and change are possible.

I work with my clients using a range of strategies pulled from: The active approach of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help people combat problematic thoughts and behaviours.
I work from a base of a person centred and relational approach. That means building a relationship with you and exploring issues together, building an understanding of what the problem is. It's then about mapping out how we will work to tackle those problems, forming an agreement between us for how to work together moving forward.

I offer online counselling for adult women experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, and difficulties with self-worth or relationships. Many of the women I work with come from culturally diverse backgrounds and have grown up navigating high expectations, responsibility, and pressure to be strong, often alongside unmet emotional needs. You may feel that no matter how much you do, it’s never enough, or feel disconnected from yourself beneath roles and expectations. Some women come to therapy feeling behind in life, unsure of their identity, or longing for more ease, meaning, and emotional connection.

Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Counsellors
How does cognitive behavioural therapy work?
Cognitive behavioural therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophising or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioural therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioural therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioural therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioural therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
