I've also gained experience working in a sexual health clinic that support the LGBTQ+ community - working with a variety of issues and presentations such as  GSRD, Disabilities, Neurodiversity, ADHD, Sexual health, Sexual problems, and Gender dysphoria, compulsive sexual behaviour (sex addiction). I have an interest in dissociative disorders and working with 'parts' of people to create synthesis.

In my work, I encourage awareness of the importance of self-care from the outset. With lived experience of both Autism and ADHD, I focus on neurodivergence and how it can impact wellbeing and self-esteem. Together, we devise strategies and tools to help with life balance. Each individual is unique; and so it is vital that clients take responsibility for their own growth. I set "homework" tasks for between sessions; utilising CBT in a collaborative process of goal-realisation and self-development, whether working online or in-person. If you are committed to deepening self-understanding, contact me to arrange an initial appointment.

I have experience of helping adults and children with many difficulties including anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anger management, grief, complex trauma, autism and ADHD, transition, sexuality, eating disorders, self-harm and suicidal feelings.
Hi, my name is Claire and I am a child and adult psychotherapist. Often people don't fully understand why they feel bad and this can lead to confusion and feeling ashamed. The feelings are experienced throughout the whole body and can be so overwhelming that they can lead to panic, depression, anxiety and challenging or self-destructive behaviours. I help clients understand how things are for them right now, validate their challenges and help them see their unique strengths, all within the context of an accepting and compassionate relationship. I use neuro-scientifically informed approaches to help heal

I specialise in complex and traumatic bereavement, executive disfunction arising from ADHD/trauma/pain/illness and provide an accepting place for people struggling with addiction.
Hello there! I'm Sam. Life should be fun but for so many, at times it's a screaming nightmare. So for 20 years I've worked in mental health understanding 'human' issues/ challenges such as fear, sadness, life, death and our reactions to them. These reactions may be due to, or the cause of other issues (anything from anxiety and functioning problems to addiction and suicidal thoughts) but by sitting down together and working out how to make it through the difficulties you're facing, big or small, I'm here to face it with you and help you find the courage to move forwards through honest, direct and safe talking therapy.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
