Hi, my name is Lynsey and I would like to help support you in this difficult time. Sometimes we go through life at such a fast pace that we ignore our underlying feelings and this can sometimes cause us upset and frustration. I wonder if you are Living a life with uncomfortable feelings and not knowing how to process them which can be holding you back from a more fulfilled life, are you finding it hard to understand yourself or Maybe you have felt things are too much right now and have a lot going on in your head. We get bogged down sometimes and tend to push our emotions to one side, which can lead to unwanted behaviour.

Many of the people I work with are struggling with questions of faith, identity, and culture, often alongside a loss of meaning or a fractured relationship with belief, responsibility, and self. I work with people who want to understand themselves properly, not just manage symptoms. Experiences such as religious trauma, diaspora identity, internalised racism, and racial trauma sit at the centre of my work. My role is not to offer quick fixes. It is to help you think clearly about your life, your history, and the patterns you find yourself repeating, especially the ones you already recognise but cannot shift.

Making the decision to approach therapy is a positive step. Talking with friends and family is invaluable, but sometimes outside professional help can help you to gain a greater understanding in finding the resources to make those changes. It can also lead to self-discovery and self-awareness to live a more fulfilling life and to have more meaningful relationships. You may be deciding to seek therapy because you are feeling low or in distress, or confused with painful feelings that you do not understand, but you may also be coming from a place of curiosity. Wanting to understand yourself more deeply.

Hi, I am Nathan, welcome. I have over 20 years experience in the NHS assessing, treating and supporting people with mental ill health, I have studied counselling and psychotherapy and I am in the advanced stages of training as a Transactional Analyst (T.A.) psychotherapist. This form of therapy involves the person taking a close observation of themselves and of how those around us shaped our personality. Many people think that this is unchangeable, transactional analysis helps us to analyse our beliefs about ourselves and others and to look at these beliefs in the here and now, test these beliefs and decontamonate our thinking.

Hi, I consider myself a friendly neighbourhood therapist. If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re carrying something heavy—maybe anxiety that doesn’t switch off, or the quiet weight of not feeling “enough.” If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to carry it by yourself. I specialise in anxiety, addiction and identity issues. In our sessions, I integrate Gestalt therapy with creative, arts-based, and movement-based practices because I believe healing isn’t only about words. Art, movement, and expression can reach parts of us that conversation sometimes can’t.

I understand that wanting a happier and more satisfying life may seem unattainable, particularly if we are dealing with complex, painful emotions or negative feelings which can cause us to feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or feeling stuck. Reaching out for support takes courage, as it involves opening up about personal experiences and emotions. Therefore, finding a qualified professional you experience as friendly, warm and empathic, who will make you feel heard and understood without fear of criticism, can help you uncover a new, deeper understanding of yourself and help you make sense of your experiences.

Marriage Counselling
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
