Life can be challenging and at times we may not have the capacity to deal with everything going on. I have created the garden room in Launton, the village I live in, where the outdoors comes in to promote healing. Private and overlooking its own garden, it’s a peaceful space within which to work through what is troubling you at this time.

The loss of a loved one, or a job can provoke a crisis.
Establishing a warm authentic relationship in which you are fully accepted will be at the heart of our work together. As an integrative therapist, I can then draw on different tools to explore you past history or work with what is 'here & now'. I may offer psychoeducation or mindfulness exercises. I tailor my approach to find a way forward that fits you

I work with Loss, Grief, Unhappiness, Destructive Behaviours, Abuse - and I feel hugely privileged to have helped so many people.
What brings you to counselling? This is what I need to know, to get an understanding of how I can help you. My Clients come with a sense of helplessness or hopelessness borne from Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Relationship difficulties, Overwhelm, Trauma or Guilt. These are only a few of the problems that I help through therapy. I’m an experienced qualified Counsellor who encourages my clients to be gently curious about the “hows and whys” of their suffering. Therapy is an opportunity for clients to explore themselves and their behaviours, in a safe space.

Talking therapy is my vocation and professional passion. I am of dual heritage and have a background in languages: Communicating and listening are at the heart of my practice. My training was in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre. This approach draws from the major therapeutic schools of thought. I think about what you feel on many levels and help you to find your own understanding. Whatever you wish to share, I give you time to reflect. I also work relationally. This means that the trusting partnership we develop will allow you to notice how you relate to yourself and others.

I am a fully qualified, accredited Psychotherapist and counsellor. I work with a range of issues, including anxiety and depression. Being heard and accepted for being who you truly are, can feel incredibly empowering. When this is taken away, our thoughts can trigger unhelpful behaviours, increasing low mood. Which in turn can play havoc with our emotions. When we feel lonely and isolated, overwhelming feelings can flood our thoughts and fears. I can offer you a safe, warm, and confidential space to explore any issues that may contribute towards your anxiety and depression. I am here to listen to you in an non-judgmental way.

I have a keen interest in working with individuals who are seeking self-awareness. Art Therapy allows expression that is not based on spoken language only. You don't need any artistic skills or any previous experience in creative expression. I hope for clients to learn their own skills and tools to heal and transform and be their best possible self. I know how hard life can be due to situations from past and present that affect us.

Over 10 years supporting clients through life's transitions— bereavement, stress, relationships, trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem—my confidential sessions create real, lasting change.
I’m Katie Ginger, an MBACP‑accredited psychotherapist based in Buckingham (MK18). I offer trauma‑informed, relational therapy for adults facing childhood neglect and abuse, parental separation, relationship difficulties, anxiety and life transitions. My person‑centred, attachment‑informed approach creates a safe, non‑judgemental space where we gently map how early experiences shape current feelings and relationships. Therapy is collaborative and practical: we explore emotional patterns, build secure ways of relating, and use focused tools (emotion‑focused and brief CBT techniques) to help you manage symptoms and reclaim agency.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
