Hello, my name is Jezz. Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting. It’s common to wonder whether you’re “ready” or whether therapy is really for you. However, you don’t need to have the right words or a clear plan—just a willingness to begin.

Since qualifying as a Psychotherapist, I have specialised in working with people who have personality disorders.
I can offer assessments and short term and long term therapy. Although my training is in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, I think it is important to adapt an integrative approach dependent on what feels most appropriate for the presenting issues that one brings to therapy. Therefore I draw in a range of therapeutic approaches.

Are you finding life tough, and feel that you are going round in circles mentally. I provide a safe space for you to come and share what is bothering you. I had a career in business before I decided to become a therapist. I wanted to apply the skills learnt to help people become the best version of themselves. It has been said. "Our clients no matter how odd or bizarre their behaviour may seem to an outsider, are essentially normal people with abnormal problems." For me this sums up therapy. It takes bravery to come for therapy, but we all need a safe space to talk to someone in our lives.

My name is Dr Dan Southall. I am an accredited and registered clinical psychologist. Starting out in therapy can be daunting but I can support you to work through difficult feelings and make sense of the confusion. You may be struggling with feelings of anger, low mood, anxiety, or stress. We all face challenges and hard times, but with a little courage and kindness, we can find a way to face painful experiences. My approach is patient, compassionate and warm. I believe that we’re naturally pulled toward what really matters to us, but sometimes we just need a little help from someone to guide us toward taking those first steps.

I work with people who are facing difficult life issues, some feel depressed and/or anxious, and unsure how to get out of the life position they find themselves in. Others experience problems managing difficult emotions caused by grief or trauma and find themselves in a maze of emotions that feel impossible to navigate. Some experience relational problems; families, partners, work colleagues and other relationships can sometimes be at the centre of hard to mange emotions. I tailor therapy to your needs, we can set goals, explore how we and others function in relationships, or use techniques; I leave these choices to you.

Acknowledging that you are struggling to cope with the daily life is hard and the first step to taking control of your life. Often people don’t feel that their problems are worth contacting a therapist about, as "others have it worse" and try to push the uncomfortable feelings away. Therapy isn't about blaming yourself or passing responsibility it's about working together with another individual to validate your experiences and understand your past patterns of behaviour. We will then work together to help you make positive changes for a more fulfilled life. I am a therapist and supervisor and work with teens and adults.

Hello, I’m Debbie, a Transactional Analysis (TA) Integrative Psychotherapist, UKCP Acc & Imago Relationship Therapist, offering 1-1, couples and group work. I prefer working with clients face to face but I do work online too. Having worked in mental health services for almost 20 years, I developed significant experience and a passion in helping people with mental health difficulties. Your 20s and 30s are often framed as “the best years of your life”. It’s a time of lots of change, self-discovery and forging your own path, but it comes with so many pressures and expectations. Perhaps you’re feeling stuck or lost, and lacking purpose and direction because you don’t know who you really are or what you want out of life. Maybe you’re struggling with difficult feelings, or have noticed there are unhealthy patterns playing out in your relationships. You might want to learn how to set and maintain new boundaries, communicate more effectively, and build your self-esteem. If any of this resonates for you, I can help.

Welcome to my profile - My name is Cat and I'm an expert in developmental trauma and personality difficulties. These can lead to a range of mental health needs that I can support you with (like anxiety, anger, risky behaviours, psychosis...) and also unhelpful coping behaviours, such as self-harm and suicidal thoughts, substance use, relationship struggles, and on. My approach is to understand the 'why', to get the root cause of difficult experiences so that we know how to improve it. We will work on identifying unhelpful coping strategies and replace these with healthy ones so we can work on developing the life that you want.

I have worked with people with mental health issues, personality disorders, and individuals who have no diagnosis and who need support and guidance to live their life they way they want.
We may find it helpful to talk problems through with someone close to us, but sometimes friends and family can not help and we need to speak to a professional therapist. I will spend time talking with you to understand your difficulties and to help you identify the roots of your problem and identify what you want to change in your life. In doing so we can find a way to work together to help you to reach your goals. I have worked with issues surrounding, anxiety, depression, trauma (including PTSD), low self esteem, stress, emotional management difficulties, phobias, OCD, relationship difficulties, and grief.

I work with clients that are often operating under sustained psychological load inciting stress, anxiety, burnout , decision fatigue, emotional isolation, relationship issues, or a nervous system that has learned to stay on alert. My clients are not looking for someone who just listens to them , gives reassurance, or surface-level strategies. They come to me for clarity without judgement, depth and intensive short term results and a space where insight leads to real, sustainable change. I am very active in the session and offer results

What happened to us, doesn't have to define us. The narrative of our issues can be transformed in something different. A healing story that can give you empowerment and freedom. We can feel angry, anxious, frozen, stuck but we may not always know why. You may look for happiness or you feel you are lost. Or perhaps, you still don't know what's missing. Regardless, I understand it's important for you to know how to cope and what really matters to you. Finding and challenging your personal story, may give you the answers you are looking for. I can help with that!

Personality Disorders Counsellors
What are the common treatment options for personality disorders?
Personality disorders are typically treated with psychotherapy, sometimes in conjunction with medication. Therapy can help people with personality disorders develop skills to tolerate difficult emotions, navigate interpersonal relationships, and solidify their sense of self. Medications can treat symptoms that co-occur with the disorder, such as depression, anger, aggression, and impulsivity.

When to seek treatment for personality disorders?
Even though treatment for personality disorders can be an uphill battle, it’s best to seek help if you suspect that you or a loved one is struggling with one, because personality disorders can create substantial problems in life. Symptoms depend on the specific disorder, but overall signs of personality disorders include consistent difficulty maintaining close relationships, dramatic variations in self-esteem, and an unstable sense of identity.

How long does therapy take for personality disorders?
The timeline for treating personality disorders isn’t as clear-cut as it is for other disorders. Change can be difficult, taking from around one year to five, 10, or more. The key is finding a therapist who has extensive experience treating the relevant disorder. For example, a psychologist who specialises in narcissistic personality disorder has specific communication strategies that allow them to sustain the relationship and be more effective with narcissistic patients.

Can therapy help people with personality disorders?
Research suggests that for those who are motivated to address concerns or interpersonal conflict related to a personality disorder, therapy is far more effective than no treatment, and that most people in therapy see improvements. However, since personality disorders involve entrenched elements of identity, they are less responsive to treatment than are other mental health conditions. Finding an expert who has extensive experience working with a given personality disorder is one factor that increases the likelihood of successful treatment.
