Hello, I’m Lolly and I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties and offer a warm, compassionate, and friendly approach to therapy. I have been working in the NHS since 2018 and currently work with adults (aged 18+), supporting them with a variety of struggles such as anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, low mood, low self-esteem, perfectionism, difficulties with emotions, and trauma. I believe that mental health difficulties are often an understandable response to the challenging contexts we find ourselves living in.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure why certain emotions or body sensations keep showing up. Many people I work with feel disconnected from themselves or stuck in overwhelming patterns they can’t quite explain, often for a long period of time. I offer a calm, supportive space to explore what’s happening in your body and nervous system, helping you feel more grounded, regulated and connected again. This way of working can be particularly helpful if anxiety, stress or trauma show up physically through tension, fatigue, pain or shutdown.

Grief sits next to anger.
Some people arrive knowing exactly what's wrong. Most don't. They just know something has to change. They're tired of going round in circles. Tired of the same arguments, the same feelings, the same version of themselves showing up. Couples who love each other but can't seem to get it right. Individuals who look fine from the outside but aren't. Professionals who are brilliant at their job and falling apart at home. I work with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy, and with individuals at their own pace, to help you understand what's actually driving the pattern you're stuck in, and find a way through it together.

I support children and families when things feel overwhelming or in crisis. My practice is transparent and collaborative, helping families work together. With a background in SEND Education and as a parent of two autistic children, I understand that the process needs to be as stress-free as possible. I offer a free initial consultation so parents feel informed and supported. Play therapy is gentle, child-led and non-directive, allowing children to explore safely at their own pace. Play and creative arts helps children with a sensory grounding—especially supportive for neurodiverse, traumatised, or looked after/adopted children.

I specialise in working with post traumatic stress and moral injury, including occupational trauma faced by veterans, emergency services and health and social care workers. I have ten years of NHS experience including providing support to hospital staff, many of whom work in high-stress environments, and working with complex post traumatic stress including asylum seeker and refugee populations. This wide range of experience has deepened my understanding of trauma, burnout, and the emotional toll of high-pressure roles, which I bring to my work with professionals.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
