Hi, I'm Isobel. My clients would describe me as warm, honest and direct. I offer non-judgmental psychotherapy for a broad range of issues, many of which center around anxieties, self esteem, self defeating behaviors, relationships, abuse and trauma. I'm an integrative therapist, which means I draw from a few different styles of therapy- please ask if you'd like to know more about this. I currently offer both short term and long term therapy online and in person. My client base consists of individuals with a really mixed range of issues. I am a Psychosexual specialist (I can provide therapy for sexual issues).

I believe we all have, in ourselves, the ability to work through our own problems; sometimes we just need the space, time and support to do it. Talking through emotional turmoil, life experiences or life changes can help you gain clarity and a better understanding of yourself. Sometimes talking to our friends and family can seem too daunting, often we can’t help wondering if we will be taken seriously and what they might think of us. We don’t want to worry them or think nobody will be interested. What would it be like to talk without judgment or advice? Someone who acts as a thinking partner.

Therapy provides a place in which to safely explore thoughts and feelings free from the fear of judgement. My aim, as a therapist, is to empower my clients to live their lives as they wish, free from mental tension. I believe that the emotionally wounded deserve acceptance and compassion. I recognise that sometimes there are dark days. I integrate Person-Centred and Psychodynamic theories into my counselling.

Perhaps you have been feeling anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed. Maybe you are wondering about your purpose in life, or have experienced trauma and you would like some help with difficult thoughts and feelings. Perhaps you don't like yourself very much and feel unworthy. Do you feel alone in trying to deal with what's happened to you and how you feel, or you think that the uncomfortable feelings will never go away? You do want to feel better but are unsure how to start.

Every experience shared is an opportunity to feel less alone. It is my firm belief that every person has the power within themselves to make choices and changes, take ownership of their lives, and determine the direction they wish to head. My aim is to promote empowerment, personal change and growth, and provide a non-judgemental space for clients to progress at their own pace. I have both personal and professional experience of working with neurodiversity and I welcome this - as I welcome people of all backgrounds - into my practice.

Sometimes life can be tough and is not always fair. I get that completely. I have been there and I can help. I trained as a counsellor to support people just like me. I also work with children and young people and love helping them to grow. Hello, I'm Rosie and I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I believe that we all have the ability to grow, heal and change, regardless of what we have experienced in life. I always put the needs of my clients first and will work alongside you, at your own pace, to support you, or your child to work through your issues.

Life is full of ups and downs, and it is perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed and challenged by these changes. Whatever you are going through, it is important to you and talking about these challenges does not have to be a last resort.

I have experience in counselling adults, children and young people age 11+, dealing with: anger issues, anxiety, bereavement, coping with life changes, depression, disabilities, low self-esteem or low self-confidence, overcoming fears and phobias and relationship issues. The idea of entering therapy can feel daunting, at what may already be a difficult and overwhelming time. It’s essential you find a counsellor you feel comfortable sharing things with and I don't want you to pay for my time until you know we’re the right fit. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute online chat to understand your situation, needs and how I might help. Whatever your circumstances, we can explore your situation and what it means to you together.

Emotional and mental pain cannot be seen in a scan or measured in a blood test. It is invisible, yet may have a painful impact on your life, relationships and wellbeing. I am here to offer you a safe, completely non-judgemental and confidential space where you can share your thoughts and feelings with me. I was trained to help you work through them. I am an integrative psychotherapist, and completed an MA with distinction from IATE & the University of East London. My holistic approach means that I weave together many techniques and pay attention to my client’s mind, body and spirit.

People who come to work with me as a coaching psychologist are typically experiencing difficult feelings such as anxiety, stress and depression. Self criticism can be a paralysing, yet normal, aspect of life. They find themselves turning to things like TV, sex, booze, self harm etc in attempts to cope. They want to be happy, able to engage with their partner(s) in positive and warm ways, have relatively stable emotions and to be free to live the life they've dared to imagine for themselves. They just don't quite know how to get there. My clients are ready to take active steps towards improving things in their life.

Are you finding your marriage or relationship to be really hard right now? Is it full of tension, disappointment or heartache? Perhaps you are arguing more and you just don't look forward to spending time with your partner anymore. Do you wish you could feel the way you felt about them when you first decided to make a commitment to each other? I'm guessing you want to feel seen and heard, like you matter and like your thoughts and feelings matter, too. You don't just want to be going through the motions of being close, but want something that feels special and secure.

I appreciate that people seek therapy for a variety of reasons and know this can feel daunting for many. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. This provides the trust and safety to address difficulties and work towards change. I value the individuality of each person I work with. I use this to explore how your life history and personal circumstances have influenced ways of thinking, feeling, and relating to others. I can support you to identify your goals for therapy and enhance your strengths to achieve these.

Hi, I’m Emma and I offer a compassionate and containing space for us to explore what it is that has brought you into therapy and how we can understand what is needed for you to have the full life experiencer that you desire. I offer an eclectic approach to therapy, depending on the needs you are coming for and the age, circumstance and appropriateness of how we will work together. I believe the relationship we hold is at the centre of the healing process and so I will be focused on what that needs to be for you and how that needs to be developed with others too.

I have a warm, empathic and supportive counselling style. As a relational therapist I place the client – counsellor relationship at the centre of the therapeutic work. Counselling is confidential, collaborative, and clients always have autonomy over the direction and duration of their therapy. I work with adults and young people aged 16 plus in person from safe and comfortable therapy rooms in Henley on Thames. I am experienced in working with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties but many clients come to see me for help and support in navigating difficult feelings and life stages.

How can I find a therapist in Berkshire?
Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
