Bereavement Counselling in Berkhamsted
Therapy is time set aside by you and the therapist to look at what has brought you to therapy. This might include talking about life events (past and present), feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. Resilience isn’t about never falling over. It’s about knowing what do to when we do fall over and how we get back up again. I won’t judge you or criticise you. I work with the uniqueness of each individual client and endeavour to offer a relationship in which you feel heard, accepted, safe and valued. And collaboratively we will work to make positive changes in your life.

I typically work with anxiety, bereavement, complex grief, depression, narcissistic abuse, relationship challenges, identity challenges and emerging neurodivergent challenges.
Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, misunderstood by others, or exhausted from constantly holding things together internally.
You may struggle with anxiety, relationship difficulties, rejection sensitivity, masking, burnout, or a sense that you don’t fully belong. Perhaps words feel difficult sometimes, or you find yourself deeply feeling things that others seem able to brush aside.
Therapy offers a space where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply, feel genuinely seen, and gently unfurl into greater self-acceptance and freedom.

You might be facing a loss or going through some kind of transition that is challenging your sense of self.
I believe that each of us creates a unique way of viewing and interacting with the world that is based on how we internalised past relationships and life-events. These past experiences can continue to influence our thoughts, feelings and actions, even when we are unaware of their influence. You might find yourself unexpectedly sad, angry or disconnected.

Move forward from a trauma or loss.
The solid underpinning of the work I do as Psychotherapist and Counsellor lies in the knowledge that its ultimately the developing relationship between client and therapist-that's you and me- that enables positive changes to happen.
I integrate Cognitive-Behavioural-Therapy (CBT) with a Humanistic, Relational approach.

I have experience supporting adults who are struggling with aspects of their life such as anxiety, depression, grief, identity, sexuality and self-esteem and I offer a warm and professional place where we can work together.
I like to work collaboratively offering therapy that is tailored to you. It can be short or long term, we can focus on finding possible solutions to recent issues or try to make sense of more deep seated and recurring feelings. After a commercial career I have worked as an outreach counsellor and for a charity supporting adults with learning difficulties.
