Hi, I’m Warren. I support people who might be feeling anxious, low, or stuck after difficult experiences and not sure how to move forward. Perhaps you’ve been carrying the impact of past trauma, struggling with confidence, or caught in unhelpful patterns that stop you from living the life you want. My clients often want to feel calmer, more in control, and free from self-doubt, anxiety or negative thoughts around past events. They want to feel ready to make choices that reflect who they really are.

Throughout our lives, we are often confronted with experiences and/or difficulties that challenge us. Sometimes, these challenges can leave us struggling and in need of a space in which we we can safely explore, understand, and learn how to overcome these issues. Through careful exploration, not only is it possible to learn how to overcome these challenges, we can also begin to understand how they can in fact offer us new opportunities to learn and grow. I take a open and collaborative approach to therapy and am keen to support you with any challenges you are facing

My clients come from all walks of life, often high achievers who’ve relied on intellect to fix problems. Together we take a different route—engaging the mind-body connection so change feels natural and sustainable. They arrive burdened by anxiety, chronic stress, burnout or life-direction crossroads, stuck in habits like scrolling, drinking or smoking, haunted by imposter thoughts, low self-esteem, procrastination, phobias, sleepless nights, depression or emotional flashbacks from trauma.

Do you never feel good enough, no matter how much you do? Juggling work, family and social commitments isn't easy in today's world. The pressures are real for women and they keep changing. Most of the time you can keep the plates spinning, but when life throws you something unexpected - health issues, conflict at work, relationship difficulties, worries about family members - it can all feel like too much. You might have always been a coper but if your default mood is feeling stressed, overwhelmed and exhausted, it's time to get some support. I'd love to help you enjoy the life you've worked so hard to build.

I offer a caring and non-judgmental relationship in which you can explore the issues, experiences, thoughts and feelings that have brought you to seek help. We will explore the situations and challenges you are facing in your life. Speaking about what is difficult is the beginning of feeling better. Core Process Psychotherapy combines the wisdom and compassion of Buddhism with western approaches to psychology. This compassionate and relational approach emphasises our wholeness, and our inherent resilience and balance - however hidden these qualities may sometimes seem. I work with both individuals and couples.

I deliver high-quality treatments, including CBT (I'm BABCP accredited), ACT for performance optimisation (e.g., thriving in competitive sports), EMDR, and Mindfulness-Based Therapies.
I am a senior clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience in the NHS, and I currently work in private practice. Each day, I help people manage stressful life events and confront various psychological issues, such as anxiety, PTSD, low mood, performance optimisation, and coping with pressure. I can help you develop a deep understanding of your problems and how to respond to them flexibly. I believe that our thoughts influence our feelings, which in turn affect our actions. Sometimes, we must reflect on why we keep falling into the same patterns to move forward in life. Seeking help to escape a rut is perfectly acceptable.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Counsellors

How does mindfulness-based cognitive therapy work?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy originated in the work of John Kabat-Zinn of the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He developed mindfulness-based stress reduction, which is a technique found in yoga and meditation. MBCT is a combination of this type of stress reduction and cognitive behavioral therapy; it essentially quiets emotional distress through mindfulness, utilizing proper breathing and meditation. These techniques aim to bring the individual into the present moment when in a state of distress.

When do I know if I need treatment with mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

If an individual’s mind is filled with emotional distress and general negativity, the person may feel trapped. A mindfulness-based cognitive therapist can help a person change their thinking patterns as well as their behaviour through calm acceptance and compassion. This therapy can provide an individual with the coping skills needed for a healthier and more constructive life.

What should I expect from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy?

This therapy often takes place in group sessions. A therapist will work with the group as well as with each individual. Meditation and breathing exercises are core practices that aim to invite inquiry and discovery into a person’s troubled mental state. The objective is to identify and lessen negative thoughts and behaviours and move toward optimal health and productivity. The individual will see life in a more realistic way. This therapy is supportive, accepting, and warm.

Is mindfulness-based cognitive therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is evidence-based and effective. One study found that people with major depressive disorder have benefitted from this type of therapy; the person accepts their distressed thoughts and also moves into healthier patterns of thinking. This therapy also aims to move an individual away from automatic negative responses. This type of therapy can bring a person lifelong change, with higher levels of satisfaction, less stress, as well as positive emotional and behavioural habits.
