I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), and draw on other therapeutic models and techniques such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), and Gestalt therapy to best meet the client's needs.
Life can throw us challenges at times where perhaps an outside perspective can help. I'm an experienced Clinical Psychologist and CAT therapist working with adults. I also work in the NHS. I specialise in physical health conditions (e.g. oncology, palliative care, pain, digestive diseases), alongside issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship/interpersonal difficulties, loss, adjustment, trauma, life crisis, body image and identity. I'm also interested in issues of diversity and cultural conflict. I work in a collaborative and integrative way to help understand your difficulties and to move towards the change you seek.

Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or misunderstood, whether they’re navigating ADHD or autism, managing big emotions, or trying to cope with stress, anxiety, or burnout. I also support students preparing for or adjusting to university life, where pressure, independence, and identity shifts can feel intense. My clients want clarity, confidence, and practical tools to help them feel more in control of their day‑ to‑ day lives.

We all confront struggles at some stage in our lives, and overcoming these can feel like a challenge. There may be challenges with our internal world, in our relationships, or we may experience a significant life event that means we start to feel ‘stuck’. This can lead to feeling a lack of self-confidence and to feelings of self-doubt. I understand that taking that first step to talk to someone can be difficult, and thus I create a safe space that encourages you to feel supported and heard. I believe in the importance of working alongside you as part of a journey to increased self-development and overall improved well-being.

In addition to being trained in specialised eating disorder interventions and CBT, I'm also experienced in using third wave therapies such as compassion focussed, acceptance and commitment and mindfulness based therapy.
You may be feeling overwhelmed by mental health challenges and wondering whether you can enjoy a life of quality where you're in control rather than the mind bully. You're hoping for a compassionate, honest non- judgemental therapist with lived experience and clinical expertise.
You want a safe space to unmask and be authentic, whilst being supported to face your fears. You're hoping for a collaborative journey where your therapist is a true partner, guiding you through setbacks empowering you to understand your experiences and work towards recovery - not necessarily "free" of the struggles, but maybe a "little bit less" of them.

You're managing well on the outside. Privately, something isn't right. Perhaps it's exhaustion that rest doesn't fix, anxiety that never fully quiets, or a relationship that has quietly frayed. I work with high-achieving adults, couples and young people aged 16+ who are functioning well and struggling underneath. I'm Ify, BACP-registered psychotherapist and ACC coach. Before training clinically, I spent 15 years as a senior corporate leader. You won't need to translate your world for me. I specialise in burnout, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, executive stress and identity transitions. Online, UK-wide and Bedford.

My clients often want to feel calmer, more in control, and free from self-doubt, anxiety or negative thoughts around past events. They want to feel ready to make choices that reflect who they really are.

Hi, my name is Andrew. I'm a Psychodynamic Counsellor (since 2018).
Psychodynamic counselling is a relationship where the things you can’t (yet!) think or say—your anxieties, defences, long-standing patterns of loving and hating—can begin to show themselves in the here-and-now, especially in how you experience your therapist. By noticing and putting words to these unconscious “inner object” relationships as they come alive between you and your therapist, you slowly integrate previously split-off parts of yourself, soften persecutory fear and guilt, and build a more stable capacity for trust, ambivalence, and care.

I deliver high-quality treatments, including CBT (I'm BABCP accredited), ACT for performance optimisation (e.g., thriving in competitive sports), EMDR, and Mindfulness-Based Therapies.
I am a deputy lead clinical psychologist in an NHS secondary care team, and I currently work part-time in private practice. Each day, I help people manage stressful life events and confront various psychological issues, such as anxiety, PTSD, low mood, loneliness, self-esteem, and coping with pressure. I can help you develop a deep understanding of your psychological problems and convert insight into change. I believe that our thoughts influence our feelings, which in turn affect our actions. Sometimes, we must reflect on why we keep falling into the same patterns to move forward in life. Seeking help for emotional problems is wise.

I never set out to work with a specific kind of person, however, around 70% of my clients tend to be women aged between 30 and 45. They worry, feel stressed and not good enough. They often find themselves saying 'what if' all the time having lost their zest for life without any knowledge of why! It might be triggered by past traumatic events, the challenges of juggling life, family or work. These feelings might be a new, unexplained experience or they may have been around for decades. Does this sound like you? Even if this doesn't, you may be like the other 30% of people I work with, and you matter too!

Whether you are struggling with emotions, relationships or physiological symptoms of anxiety or depression I can offer a safe space to explore these. You may be struggling to understand why things are so difficult, and may be very critical of yourself, thinking you should be coping better. You might have experienced a traumatic event, or always felt that you don't quite fit in, blaming yourself. You might be in a couple or a family unit struggling with arguments or disconnection from each other. You might just want to re-think your values and life goals to shift your future focus to something more rewarding.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Counsellors
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
