I have space in my practice in central Bath from September for in person open-ended therapy.
My therapeutic practice values deep understanding, curiosity, creativity and care. I aim to work collaboratively with you to explore whatever brings you to therapy and to find ways to bring meaning and understanding to your current experience, looking at your past as well as your present. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important aspects of therapy, so an exploratory session can be a good opportunity to see whether I'm the right person for you to work with at this time.

When we have a problem we often want to talk to someone who is not going to judge us. Talking to friends or family you may be afraid of what they might think or be worried about upsetting them. This can make it hard to be completely open about what is happening and block our ability to fully understand. Seeing a psychotherapist is an opportunity to build a safe trusting relationship where they can offer a more impartial point of view. It is my be that it is the quality of this relationship between the counsellor and client that helps us to marshal our own resources to find a resolution or make changes.

Are you struggling with a relationship or juggling the competing demands of your private and professional life? Are you feeling stuck and uncertain about how to fulfil your potential? Have you recently lost someone close to you? I first sought help as a young mother and the benefits were so enormous, I chose to train as a psychotherapist myself. I work one-to-one and with couples, helping you to identify patterns in your relationship with others, and with yourself, and establishing ways of changing those patterns that do not serve you.

I see clients online via Zoom and in person in beautiful Bath.
Feeling stuck? Problems that persist and seem resistent to talking therapies often have an unconscious element to them that can be unlocked by hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is not a passive process but a way for the client to take back control of repetitive behaviors and get freedom to "get on with their life". Phobias; anxiety; mental blocks of all kind can all be treated with hypnotherapy. Hypnosis and psychotherapy, can brings deep therapeutic change, relief and release of stuck emotions, unuseful behaviour patterns and problems. Take back control by deciding what messages your deep mind is playing out in your life.

Life can be really tough at times. We can all go through periods when we feel we are constantly struggling to cope, and there are many different reasons why you might want to come to see a psychotherapist. You might be facing issues in the present, like relationship difficulties, bereavement or a health scare, or feeling overwhelmed by global events and challenges. Maybe you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, or feeling troubled by past events and experiences like abuse, violence or problematic relationships. Maybe you’re working though issues connected with gender, sexuality or identity generally.

Sessions normally last 90 minutes, either online or in-person.
If you're struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, unresolved trauma, a major life change or simply feeling 'stuck', I can help you feel better, think more clearly and move forward quickly and positively. I believe we're all able to achieve lasting change in our lives, and I'll help you access your own strengths to make the changes you want. Sessions with me involve friendly discussion of your issues, cognitive therapy, Rewind and BWRT techniques where appropriate, and practical strategies for moving forward. We won't dwell too long on the past: instead, I offer solution-focussed help based in the here and now.

I'd love to hear from you - I offer sessions in-person and online.
A very warm welcome. Reaching out for support in times of change, distress, or to process issues from the past can feel daunting. And yet, when life events thwart us and you seek out therapy, you are taking the first step towards positive change. You may feel anxious, depressed, overwhelmed or lacking in self-esteem. Perhaps you have experienced trauma including birth trauma or a loss through death, divorce, or miscarriage. Or it may not be fully clear yet what’s bothering you. Whatever your concerns may be, they matter. I'm Nadine, a BACP registered Counsellor, Psychologist, Mentor, and Midwife and I'd love to hear from you.

I offer online psychotherapy via video, with some meetings in person.
It’s not easy to know where to begin when searching for a therapist. Initially we would talk through your challenges and hopes from therapy and then make a plan together. Over 20 years as an NHS therapist, I have found that talking and thinking with an experienced therapist, in a confidential therapeutic environment, can offer the possibility of developing new ways of thinking, understanding and insight into patterns of relating. Finding words for feelings and sharing them so that they can be better understood is a creative process. This act of self care creates a space for change in the present and also hope for the future.

You might be struggling with something difficult in the here and now, such as the loss of a loved one, or the breakdown of a relationship. Or perhaps you’re aware of vague, underlying feelings of sadness, anxiety or anger. Maybe you feel trapped in a cycle of repeated disappointments with partners, friends and careers and don’t know why. Whether you know what the problem is, or even if you don’t, therapy can help. It’s an opportunity to explore yourself; to examine feelings, thoughts and motivations and gain understanding - the first step towards navigating a different, happier course.
