And sometimes we just feel disconnected - unseen and unheard.

You can hold things together, but it comes at a cost. You might feel anxious, stuck, or not entirely yourself, without being clear why. You may be used to coping alone. I work with people who have experienced difficult or complex relationships early in life, which still shape how they feel and relate to others. This shows up as repetitive patterns, confusing reactions, or feeling stuck in cycles that are hard to break. We make sense of it together. I shape the therapy around your needs rather than a set approach, creating space to talk things through, look closer at what’s actually going on, and explore what might shift.

I can help you to make sense of difficult feelings or problems in relationships that you are experiencing. You may be aware of repeated patterns of behaviour that seem impossible to break, or you may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious or angry. Whatever the issue, we can work together with the aim of understanding yourself at a deeper level and uncovering the root cause of your difficulties.
Often the problems we experience as adults relate back to our childhood, and old ways of coping with past problems can be repeated. I can help you to understand these patterns and find new ways to move forwards.

I work with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ adults who feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or stuck in patterns that don’t make sense from the outside.
Many people come to me dealing with masking, identity questions, relationship strain, emotional overload, or the long‑term impact of not feeling understood.
My style is warm, steady and conversational. No jargon, no judgement, no pressure to perform. Just a calm space where you can slow down, make sense of things, and be met as you are. I’m ND‑affirming, LGBTQ+‑affirming, trauma‑aware, and experienced in supporting autistic, ADHD and AuDHD clients.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.
When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.
How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
