I specialise in developing awareness, understanding, compassion and techniques to support stress management, low self esteem, identity, anxiety, depression and loss.
Hi, I’m Liz — a warm, compassionate, outdoor-loving integrative psychotherapist. I work holistically to offer you the therapy you need and deserve. Therapy doesn’t have to take place in a room or online. Walk and Talk therapy is a meaningful alternative that blends conversation, psychotherapy, movement and nature. It can support a wide range of mental health needs, with the added benefits of reduced stress and improved emotional regulation. I’m trauma-informed and offer a safe, non-judgemental space for all ages and identities, with experience supporting neurodivergent, SEND and LGBTQIA+ clients. I offer Short and long term therapy.

Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or others.
I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can slow things down, talk openly and be fully heard by someone who isn't part of your outside world. Feeling unsure at the beginning is completely normal. Early sessions are about building trust, creating safety, and gently exploring what you’d like support with.

Over time, this can become a pattern that feels impossible to break, keeping you stuck in fear of confrontation, rejection, or disappointing those around you.
I work with individuals and use a variety of approaches that are tailored to your needs, focusing on the challenges you bring. This might include understanding relationship patterns, building assertive communication skills, working with negative self-talk and limiting beliefs, or nurturing self-compassion and a stronger sense of self.

Life can become too much sometimes. Maybe you’ve tried to carry on as normal, pushing things down or telling yourself “others have it worse.” But the truth is, if something is hurting you, it matters. I work with people who want to understand themselves better, especially how their early life or relationships have shaped how they show up in the world today. Perhaps you’ve reached a point where you’re asking, “Why do I feel like this?” or “Why does it keep happening?”—and you’re ready to find out.

I mainly specialize in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and third wave therapy approaches for a range of mental health difficulties including anxiety, depression, specific phobias, OCD and health anxiety.
I stand by my organisations statement ‘Always Authentic, Always Therapeutic’. After speaking with so many clients over the years, it was disheartening to hear that people were not involved in their own care and were frequently met with practitioners who were not experienced in providing the level of psychological support they expected.

I often work with adults who live with anxiety, stress, self-criticism or shame while appearing to cope well.
You keep going because there always seems to be something or someone that needs you — even when you’re running on empty. This way of living often grows slowly, over years of taking responsibility, adapting to what was needed, and leaving little room to ask what you need. For some, living between languages and cultures has made adapting feel second nature. I work with adults who have spent years holding relationships together because that’s how their world has stayed intact. Over time, carrying that responsibility alone can begin to feel very heavy. It can show up as tension, overthinking and feeling responsible for everyone else.

You may look like you’re coping on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly questioning yourself.
Together we can explore what’s beneath the anxiety, self-criticism, or relationship struggles, and make sense of how past experiences may still be shaping how you feel today. Over time, therapy can help you quiet the inner critic, feel less anxious, build self-confidence and develop kinder ways of relating to yourself.

If you’re anxious, full of guilt, or nervous that therapy might bring up too much painful history, I know how hard it is to begin.
Are you feeling fed up in your relationships, completely lost, or stuck going around in the same exhausting circles? Life can feel like a constant struggle where you are living on autopilot, and it’s common to feel unsure about where to turn. Therapy can help you feel more in control of your emotions, step off autopilot, and safely look beneath the surface. My approach involves working with the early patterns and childhood dynamics that keep you stuck today. Together, we’ll focus on what truly matters to you, helping you build unshakeable self-respect, set firm boundaries, and stop settling for emotional breadcrumbs.

I can provide support around low mood, anxiety, addiction, or routine and issues with relationships.
My speciality, CBT, focuses on understanding thoughts, feelings and behaviours and understanding the relationship between these elements of ourselves. Gaining awareness of these is the start of the journey to learning how to cope with our emotions when we feel overwhelmed by them, and it is a huge part of my practice. Understanding who we are is a must.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
