Hi, I’m Sharon, a BACP-registered therapist.

Perhaps you overthink, people-please or struggle to set boundaries, while feeling disconnected from who you really are.
On the outside, you may appear capable and coping. On the inside, things can feel heavy, confusing or too much.
I work with women who want to feel calmer, clearer and less anxious.

If you’re neurodivergent or living with trauma, it’s no surprise those didn’t stick; survival mode needs more than a strategy.
I’m often described as grounded, honest, and kind. I pay attention to the parts that don’t always have words, and I work relationally and creatively, with lived experience of neurodivergence and a strong trauma-informed lens. You don’t have to be put together; come as you are, whether shut down, scattered, hopeful, hesitant, or just figuring it out.

Many of my clients are neurodivergent, whether already diagnosed or looking into it.
Being late diagnosed neurodivergent ( ASD and ADHD) has given me lots of life experience of living with "otherness", how I adapted to fit the world I lived in, and what it was like to rediscover who I am, and always was. These experiences allow me to be open to hearing your truth, and to help you explore what you really need to change for your benefit.

My specialties include neurodiversity ( autism and ADHD), sexual and gender diversity, HIV and cross-cultural psychology.
Experiencing difficult emotions in face of life challenges or crisis are often considered as “problems” that make us feel vulnerable, powerless or shameful. Although these "problems" are often natural human experiences, we sometimes struggle with the critical inner voice and have little compassion towards self. Psychotherapy is neither a quick fix of your psychological wounds nor a direct path to happiness. It's a process where you can start connecting with yourself and make sense of your own narrative in a safe and respectful space. The process of relating to a genuine human being itself could be the start of your healing journey.

Hi, I am Noemi. Thank you for stopping by.
You may arrive in therapy not because something is “wrong”, but because something feels misaligned. Perhaps you are coping on the surface while quietly carrying anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, burnout, trauma or disconnection from yourself. You may feel exhausted from masking parts of who you are to fit in or stay strong.
If you experience the world deeply or process things differently, my approach may feel supportive. Those who have worked with me describe me as a warm and approachable counsellor committed to helping you better understand yourself and your needs.

I have a particular interest in making my practice autism-friendly.
I offer both psychodynamic and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which complement each other so well. Psychodynamic counselling primarily allows for deep dives into your experiences both past and present, as the therapeutic relationship brings awareness of your unconscious self in a manageable way. ACT then builds upon this with much more active interventions, and these can guide you on the path to leading a life that is meaningful for you whilst also learning to embrace its inevitable pain. ACT teaches us that, through mindful action rooted in our core values, we can effectively navigate life's challenges and unwanted experiences.

What is the most effective treatment for autism?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) has come to be considered the standard treatment for children with autism spectrum disorder, and research has confirmed its effectiveness for many children. Therapists trained in ABA techniques work with children (and their parents) on developing social skills, communication and learning abilities, and everyday habits of hygiene and grooming. The clinician will tailor their program to the child’s particular need but the overarching goal will be to help them advance as far as possible toward independence based on their level of symptoms and decrease the need for additional special services. Families should seek a mental health professional specifically trained in ABA, and holding special certification in the technique, who has extensive experience not only with the approach but in using it with children with the same level of symptoms as the child who needs care.
How does ABA work?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) sessions, which typically focus on positive reinforcement, can be intensive, lasting two or more hours several times a week, and continuing for two years or more. Therapists can also be expected to ask parents to take an active role in reinforcing lessons. Research has found that the technique can lead to major improvements that decrease the need for additional special services.
How does treatment for autism work?
Therapy sessions based on Applied Behavior Analysis will likely be frequent, intensive, and highly structured. After a thorough assessment, a therapist will help a child understand and develop skills in a range of areas, including communication, motor skills, social skills, self-care, play, and academic skills, as well as routines of daily living like hygiene. Typically, the therapist will help a child break down the components of a behavior—often referred to as the antecedent (what prompts an action), the behavior, and the consequence(what immediately follows)—and then reward the child at every step, while also asking parents to reinforce the lessons, and the rewards, throughout the day. This core therapy may be supplemented by occupational or speech therapy, and antidepressants, antipsychotics, and anticonvulsants may be prescribed to address specific severe symptoms.
How long does therapy for autism take?
Some people with autism spectrum disorder may be engaged in some level of therapy for many years, but research shows that treatment will be most effective if it is begun early and delivered intensively. When therapy begins by age 3, children tend to be better able to grasp and adopt the skills needed to manage everyday life, including attending school and establishing social relationships. This type of early-intervention treatment regimen is highly structured, typically involving 20 to 40 hours of one-on-one therapy per week, along with additional hours of engagement managed by parents, for a period of two years or more, although the duration of treatment is dependent on the child’s level of symptoms and pace of progress.
