I specialise in bereavement, relationship issues, and parenting.
When grief, family conflict, or life’s pace leaves you fragmented, I provide a warm, compassionate, and deeply relational space to help you move beyond just 'getting by.' I believe you are the expert on your own life; I am here to provide thoughtful challenge and support as you share your stories in the way you see fit. I’m a deeply present observer fascinated by the threads that connect us. I’m captivated by how we think, feel, and find our way to one another. To me, therapy is about creating a space where you don’t have to edit yourself—an honest therapeutic relationship where we work to make sense of your experience together.

I am a fully qualified, accredited Psychotherapist and counsellor. I work with a range of issues, including anxiety and depression. Being heard and accepted for being who you truly are, can feel incredibly empowering. When this is taken away, our thoughts can trigger unhelpful behaviours, increasing low mood. Which in turn can play havoc with our emotions. When we feel lonely and isolated, overwhelming feelings can flood our thoughts and fears. I can offer you a safe, warm, and confidential space to explore any issues that may contribute towards your anxiety and depression. I am here to listen to you in an non-judgmental way.

I want to sit with you as you reconnect with your inner strength, build resilience, and move toward a life that makes sense to you, meaningful, balanced, and truly your own. Starting counselling can feel daunting, I want you to know that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start, I didn't. You simply need a space where you are seen, heard, and respected,  exactly as you are. Therapy doesn't work because I have the 'right' answers, it works because over time, we work together building a safe theraputic relationship, which allows difficult feelings, thoughts and experiences to be explored at your pace.

Exploring the possibility of counselling/psychotherapy is a courageous step, one which can enable you to become more fully yourself. Therapy should be a place where you can feel safe and accepted, where you find it easier to share things that are concerning you. It can be a place where you come to find out more about yourself, to challenge yourself and make choices and decisions that lead towards a more positive and hopeful future. Sometimes there is something from our past, an event or an aspect of ourselves, that seems to be holding us back, and therapy can support us in addressing those things too. Be in touch for more info...

New year, new me? For many people, even hearing that phrase can feel scary or daunting. It can stir up the pressure to change or highlight things you’ve been quietly avoiding because they felt too big, too painful or too overwhelming to face alone. Real change rarely starts with reinventing yourself - it begins with acknowledging that something inside you is asking for support, clarity or simply a safe place to be heard. If this feels like the moment to explore what’s been sitting beneath the surface, reaching out can be the first gentle step. There are many reasons someone might seek a counsellor and each one is personal and valid.

Hello and welcome. I offer a safe and supportive space to explore whatever feels important to you, whether that is thoughts, feelings or difficult life experiences. Using compassionate and somatic inquiry, grounded in mindfulness practice, we work with whatever arises in an accepting and non-judgemental way. Through these explorations we can start to gain insights and clarity into stuck patterns and behaviours which may no longer serve us. In doing so, we give space for new possibilities to emerge in how we live, relate and move through the world, allowing for a greater sense of authenticity, ease and freedom.

Parenting Counsellors
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
