I have experience working with bereavement and loss, suicidal ideation, self-harm, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ, eating disorders, personality disorders, shame and attachment/relationship issues.
Life can be really tough sometimes. During difficult periods it can help to have someone to talk to, a different relationship to that of friends and family. I can offer a safe, confidential space offering a warm, empathic, supportive and non-judgemental environment for us to explore what’s going on for you. The trust and relationship that you have with your therapist is so important and will be the centre of our work together. I am an integrative counsellor trained in humanistic, behavioural and psychodynamic approaches. Working with these different modalities means that we can find the most suitable approach for you.

Maybe you’ve experienced a loss that’s changed you, or relationships that have left you questioning yourself.
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, which means I tailor therapy to you rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. I work both thoughtfully and creatively, offering practical tools alongside deeper exploration, so you can better understand your patterns and begin to feel more grounded and in control.

I'm an experienced psychodynamic therapist specialising in anxiety, men’s issues, depression and grief.
Many of the people I work with are carrying more than they let on. They look like they’re coping, but inside they feel overwhelmed, stuck or disconnected. You might recognise that feeling - holding everything together on the outside while privately wondering what’s going on beneath the surface.

I have a lot of experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and abuse in particular, as well as bereavement.
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed and just don't know where to turn? Maybe you don't like yourself very much or feel that you don't have anything to offer. Would you like to be able to feel better about your decisions rather than always questioning yourself? Being able to talk to someone about how you're feeling can be a relief and can start to unlock what's going on inside to bring about change.

I am particularly experienced in treating anxiety- and stress-related issues, including generalised anxiety, panic, persistent worry, grief, and psychological trauma.
We tend to suffer from anxiety, stress, and depression for too long before reaching for help, which can lead to unnecessary suffering. It takes courage to start therapy, and it takes courage to confront our problems. ‍ What I offer you is a calm and supportive environment in which you will be able to deal with any difficulties you are experiencing, with the professionalism that you deserve.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
