I particularly specialise in clients going through bereavement or facing a life limiting illness as I have 8 years experience at a local hospice helping people struggling with either of these difficulties.
I offer face to face counselling for individuals in my bespoke therapy room. You may need to find a way to talk about a problem you have been struggling with for years or you may be in the midst of a current difficulty that is impacting on your life. Either way you will find me a good listener, empathic and able to help you work your way through whatever difficulties you are facing.
Supervision: I begin training as a Clinical Supervisor in September doing a Creative Supervision Diploma with the London School of Psychodrama and so am offering Supervision sessions in person or online. Please get in touch for more information.

Life is full of events, relationships, stresses and strains and all these impact on us in many different ways. It can affect all the important things to us such as school, work, relationships and our own perception of ourselves. This can be tiring and overwhelming. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way and I believe strongly that a person can benefit from having a space to discuss their feelings and develop ideas and strategies to improve their emotional wellbeing.

I have strong clinical experiences working with clients who have faced complex trauma, loss, and relationship difficulties, both as adults and young people.
Whilst I originally trained as an Art Psychotherapist, working creatively doesn’t mean that you need to be “good at art” - it’s a chance for us to create a new, shared language with one another, which might not always rely on words when words are hard to find.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
