My clients are people who sense that what troubles them today has deeper roots and that the anxiety, the depression, the relationship conflict, the feeling of not quite being themselves, didn't arrive from nowhere. They are often thoughtful and self-aware, carrying pain they cannot fully explain. They come with trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, grief, or questions of identity and meaning, and a hope that something can genuinely change. Over nearly a decade of practice, I have sat with people through some of life's most difficult terrain, and I bring both skill and genuine care to that work.

At the heart of how I work is the belief that everyone's choices and experiences are understandable if we give the time and attention to understanding them. When we are supported it becomes more possible to gain insight into the ways we feel limited, to acknowledge and release the feelings that can keep us stuck and to find new ways of being. Therapy can provide a chance to heal from the hurts that accumulate within us and help us find the resources to meet life fully. Through our time together, you may find that new ways of relating to yourself and the world around you become possible.

Hi, I'm Caitlyn. I know how overwhelming the search for a therapist can be - especially when life can already feel overwhelming. Many people turn to therapy because they are struggling with depression and anxiety, processing a loss, wanting to understand themselves better, longing to shift areas of stuckness, living with relational difficulties, or experiencing the aftermath of trauma. Therapy can be a place to engage with your story, be met in your pain, understand your patterns of relating, and feel seen.

If you've found your way here, things have probably felt hard for a while. Maybe you know why. Maybe you don't — you just know you're exhausted, anxious, or you've lost sight of who you are underneath it all. Perhaps you've spent years looking after everyone else, keeping the peace, putting yourself last. That works, until it doesn't — until you realise you've forgotten what it feels like to put any of it down.

I offer a warm, grounded space to explore what feels important to you. I help you understand patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, especially those that feel repetitive or difficult to shift. People often come to therapy when something in life has changed or feels overwhelming. Together, we make sense of what's happening and how it's affecting you. Alongside talking therapy, I integrate body-based awareness and breathwork where appropriate. Our work focuses on building self-awareness and creating meaningful, lasting change that feels sustainable.

Using body psychotherapy (somatic psychotherapy), I will work with you on all levels of your being (mind, body and spirit) in a transparent, caring and empowering way. My focus is on supporting you to achieve the life changes you need to become truly happy, and on creating maximum value for you going forward (so that you can experience deep and lasting change). In my approach, I work by listening deeply to your life force and holding the space for your process to emerge, your inner child to be heard and all of your feelings and thoughts to be welcomed.

Divorce Counsellors
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
