I work with individuals presenting with a wide range of concerns such as adhd, sexuality, gender and dysphoria, OCD and intrusive thoughts, trauma ptsd/cptsd couples work and relationship issues.
Are you experiencing a difficult or challenging time in your life? Perhaps you are feeling stuck and unable to move forward? Whatever your reason for considering therapy and viewing my profile, it is often the case that we 'hit the wall' or 'crash' emotionally before we can identify that we may need professional support. When our usual coping mechanisms no longer work the struggle can be overwhelming. As your therapist I recognise this as your first and critical step toward positive change. You are, I'm sure, familiar with the phrase 'if you do what you've always done...you get what you've always got' and how true it is.....

Working as a Jungian Psychotherapist, Integrative Counsellor, healer and Reiki Master means I work holistically. Every aspect of you is included in therapy - mental, physical, emotional, and at the soul level. When we get in touch with unconscious motives and drivers, and how they manifest as behaviours, we are able to make different choices and to be more of our true selves. I have run my private practice for 12 years & am a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and Ayanay Psychological Accreditation.

I specialise in providing support with PTSD & a broad range of emotional concerns and clinical presentations including Anxiety, Depression and Autism, as well as supporting them through difficult life circumstances.
I create a relaxed, safe, open and confidential listening space and work with individuals to build an understanding of how their current difficulties emerged, what is perpetuating these difficulties, and to develop alternative coping strategies. I adopt a holistic, supportive and person-centred approach and believe in the importance of a therapeutic relationship. I primarily work with Anxiety, Depression and PTSD and their associated symptoms but these can occur from a vast range of life changing events, therefore I provide bespoke Counselling based on your individual life experiences.
Good rapport with your Counsellor's the first step towards achieving change. My Counselling approach is different to anything my clients (both Adults & Children) have experienced before and it's because of this, they've felt at ease quickly and gained maximum benefit from their sessions. I've Counselled since 2019 and have a diverse range of additional skills that I integrate into my Counselling work. I work with Victims of Crime within Kent, as well as Children & Families who've been bereaved. I have over 10yrs experience working with Children & Young People, including those with additional needs, so my approach is inclusive.

It has been widely researched and is recognised as the treatment of choice for PTSD as well as excellent outcomes with other conditions.
Sometimes people may experience emotional distress and pain arising from life changes, relationship break-up, redundancy, bereavement. They may feel depressed, anxious or confused. Perhaps there's trauma, stress or difficult illness. Problems may be from the past too. Sometimes the cause can be unclear, where low mood or anxiety have become overwhelming. If you’re struggling on your own to make sense of things or to find a way forward, reach out to someone outside of your immediate circle of family and friends. Here you can experience being listened to without judgment, feel understood and work to resolve your difficulties.

I’m an integrative counsellor based in Kent, experienced in a variety of difficulties such as anxiety, PTSD, depression, childhood trauma and abuse.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important facet to our work together. As a counsellor, I am completely separate from your personal life and as such I offer an atmosphere of non-judgmental empathy. I won’t give you advice, tell you what to do or give you my opinion because I believe that, ultimately, you are the expert on you.

Trauma and PTSD Counsellors

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
