I am one of a small number of practitioners in the UK who is dually qualified as a chartered psychologist and a clinical sexologist/sex therapist. My clients may seek help for a specific sexual difficulty such as desire or arousal concerns; or may experience broader distress such as anxiety, low self esteem or perfectionism which also manifests in their sexual and relational world. My specialist interest in sexual difficulties emerged naturally from my interdisciplinary background of psychology and physiology.

My approach to therapy is friendly, respectful & totally non-judgemental. Primarily I use an Integrative Therapy based on TTM ( Transtheoretical Model of Change) based (between others) on your goals, readiness to change and the fact that ‘no one type of therapy fits all’. Psychoeducation about your symptoms, coping strategies (CBT and Mindfulness') will improve your everyday life and if you feel ready to work on the 'the roots' of the current difficulties- EMDR, Counselling and Attachment Theory would be something to explore. I adjust therapy to my clients and not the other way around.

Valuing the importance of a therapeutic relationship, I base my relationships with clients on trust and partnership. Drawing on extensive experience I aim to provide a safe and non- judgmental environment where you the client feels acknowledged, listened to and supported. As we are all unique no one type of therapy 'fits' all and I therefore integrate the therapeutic models in which I have been trained to meet your particular individual needs.

In a therapeutic relationship we need to feel safe, where there is trust and unconditional acceptance, to allow us to explore difficult and challenging experiences. I am able to offer you a safe environment which is non-judgemental and a confidential space, this will allow you to explore your experiences to gain better insight. Life can often make us feel that we are unable cope, therefore we can become isolated, alone or set apart from society. Welcome. You're not alone. And you can change. Being traumatised can feel like being trapped in a wooden rowboat on the choppiest, wildest ocean imaginable – in danger, out of control, with no help, support, anchor or safety in sight. You can change from traumatised to un-traumatised. From anxious and depressed to calm and balanced. From emotionally overwhelmed to having great emotional awareness, management and resilience. From feeling physically vulnerable and unsafe to confident and strong in your body. You can become your own anchor, able to ground and support yourself when life is, inevitably, challenging.

Starting therapy can feel like a step into the unknown. As we come to understand ourselves better and feel truly heard, it can also be deeply fulfilling. You may come with a particular concern, be struggling with difficult feelings that don’t have an obvious source, or you may simply want to live more fully. I offer an accepting and exploratory space, in which you can process your feelings and better understand your pain. Together, we can create meaning and elicit real change.
