Have past traumas taken a grip on your life and you need help to understand and move forward? Is this affecting your day to day life and relationships? Are their patterns of behaviour you would like help to unravel and understand? I understand that asking for help is difficult, especially if you are not used to talking about your thoughts and feelings. My aim is to make this easier for you. I will work with you to build trust in the therapy process and provide safety for you to talk about your issues. Just the process of having someone to safely share with can be a catalyst to healing and growth.

If you struggle with an addiction I will work with you to help you find a way to stop and more importantly, stay stopped. I’m sure you will have heard the words “why don’t you just stop/cut down”. If only it was that simple. Your addiction probably helped or still helps you feel better or takes you away from the feelings you don’t want. If you’re looking for help it’s probably damaging your life in some way now and you’re ready to look for a solution. You have taken the first step, looking for an answer.

I support adults with a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and burnout, tailoring my approach to your individual needs in a warm, trusting space where you can move at your own pace.
A supportive space for those who want to make sense of life’s challenges and move forward at their own pace. Therapy isn't about having all the answers or trying to 'fix' who you are. It's about creating space to explore your experiences with curiosity, compassion, and honesty. Together, we can make sense of difficult thoughts and emotions, understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work towards meaningful, lasting change. My role is to walk alongside you as you explore whatever feels important, offering support, challenge, and reflection in a way that helps you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

Being open and honest is all I could ask for in a client. The rest will come over time to be able to work through goals or challenges currently being faced. I'm interested in the motivation of what initiates the contact from a client to a counsellor and how this motivation can be harnessed to bring about positive change.

Many of us experience times when we are struggling with our emotions or mental health. However sometimes this can go on for too long and it can have a big impact upon our quality of life. We might notice repeating patterns or cycles that feel hard to make sense of or change.

If you think you might be struggling with anxiety & depression, trauma coupled with PTSD, with low self-esteem or gender identity, we can have an up to 30-minute free chat over the phone or online.
Having the experience of living in two countries, Poland and the UK, I fully understand the implications of being an emigrant. Plus, coming from Poland I'm well aware how generational trauma can shape person's mindset and their belief system about themselves, the others and the world. As a therapist, I use a variety of approaches to work around your needs.

I have done additional training in Trauma, Brain and Recovery, Mindfulness and Anxiety
Life can leave us feeling "wounded". At times life can feel confusing, difficult, painful, miserable, and so much more. In those moments we need to talk because holding it all in can be even more agonising. It may be that you are unsure of what it is you would like to explore, or you are aware that something does not feel right, or you don't know who you are anymore. Talking about the things that are affecting your life can transform YOU, because talking aims to help you deal with and overcome things that are causing you emotional pain or making you feel uncomfortable. Talking can offer you a safe space to explore yourself.

A large proportion of my work is working with anxiety and the stressors which accompany this.
I’m a humanistic, integrative counsellor, and I work with individuals and couples, face to face or online. My top priority is for you to better understand your thoughts and feelings and live a happier, more fulfilling life. I will ensure we work with the best tools available so you get the most out of your therapy journey. As a couple, you can enter a neutral space to tackle relationship challenges and build a stronger connection. When communication gets tough or you feel stuck in old patterns, we create a space where you both have time to feel heard and understood and create change for the better.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioural therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioural Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
