Alongside my private practice, I have volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Support since 2012 and SAIL since 2024; these provide additional training and experience which allow me to support a diverse range of needs.
It can be incredibly hard to acknowledge the roots of things like low mood, low self esteem, guilt, difficulties with trust, or changes in eating or sleeping. These are just some of the ways trauma can continue to affect wellbeing long after the abuse has ended. Many survivors of sexual, physical, or emotional abuse don’t immediately recognise the link between what they went through and the challenges they’re facing now.

I currently work with a range of clients exploring themes of neurodiversity (self or professionally diagnosed), work-related stress, family dynamics, sexuality and bereavement.
Before psychotherapy, I qualified as a teacher & tutored children and young people privately, up to the age of 16. A main part of that role was supporting young people through exam stress, hormonal changes, friendship worries and more. So after a small break whilst I finished my training, I'm thrilled to share I am now able to work therapeutically with C&YP

My own journey through loss and healing has become a source of strength, allowing me to bring both professional skill and heartfelt understanding to my work.
Many of my clients are people who have lived with emotional or mental health challenges and are ready to find a gentler way forward. They may feel weighed down by the past, unsure how it has shaped their choices, yet hopeful for something different. What my clients long for is understanding, compassion, and a safe space to be heard without judgement. Their goals are often to accept their past with kindness, reconnect with what matters most, and create a more present, fulfilling, and balanced life.

I work mainly with children and young people (CYP) on social and general anxiety, depression, or trauma as a result of bereavement.
Facing life challenges alone can sometimes seem impossible. Perhaps you're feeling the weight of these challenges pressing you down. You might be seeking a greater sense of clarity, wanting to connect with your inner self and discover your own resources for navigating life's complexities. You might also be hoping for new ways of seeing things, helping you to find your own path forward. You might feel the need to be truly heard and understood without judgment, in a space where you can explore what's happening for you at your own pace in a trusting relationship

Finding a therapist who you feel you can trust and open up to may feel daunting. My practice focuses on offering you a confidential, safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace and in a way that allows you to process what is going on for you. What a therapy session will look like is not prescriptive and will depend on what you bring. Understanding your unique experience of the world will be the starting point on which to build a relationship together, where we can develop understanding, awareness and insight into whatever difficulties you are experiencing.

Bereavement Counsellors
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
