Welcome to Blue Orchid Psychotherapy. My name is Helen. I'm a warm, empathic, fully qualified and experienced integrative psychotherapist. I'm passionate about supporting people through periods of 'stuckness', distress and overwhelm. I am skilled in trauma work and a wide range of mental health conditions. I have previously worked in mental health hospitals, practising on both addiction and general psychiatry units. If you're struggling and need a safe space to address your distress, then I'm here for you. From me, you will receive genuine empathy, non-judgmental warmth and a safe environment in which to explore.

Whether it be a recent traumatic incident, persistent recurring low moods, overwhelming anxiety or a pattern of relating to others that has proved unsatisfactory, I would like to help. I aim to provide a safe but at times challenging environment where you will be encouraged to examine and let go of old and outdated ways of coping that whilst in the past may have been helpful are now getting in the way of the life you want to lead.

Bereavement doesn’t only cover the loss of a loved one, this is an expansive area where we experience loss, whether this is the loss of a home, a relationship a job or indeed the passing of someone we love. We can also experience grief with the loss of a way of life, friendship and loss of an expected future or expectation of something happening in a certain way. Loss can create an array of emotions and thoughts which I can help you to unpick and understand enabling you to feel a sense of calm again.
