My special interests include ADHD, childhood trauma and anxiety.
Thinking about starting therapy? Have you reached a stage where you're feeling anxious, depressed and lacking motivation? You may be struggling with work and studies? Or finding relationships difficult? Or may be life in general is feeling too much just now? The coping strategies that worked well for you in the past are no longer enough. Perhaps you’re struggling to process past trauma or loss. Or you notice the same destructive patterns repeating in your work and personal life. If any of this resonates, or if you’re feeling stuck, isolated and in need of some support. Therapy with me, could help you get back on track.

I work primarily with clients around addiciton issues, and ADHD.
I am a Counsellor based in Manchester offering In person and online sessions. Life can be challenging, and in places it can feel intolerable and overwhelming it can be difficult to know where to start unravelling this, how to make changes, what changes, if any, we need to make, and to try to make sense of why we feel the way that we do. This can be a very painful experience but however dark it may be today, doesn't mean tomorrow won't be lighter, counselling can offer an opportunity to be heard and to be understood. I work with clients from all backgrounds but have particular experience working with Addiction and with LGBT+ issues.

Courage is turning up, even when things feel tough. Maybe you’ve felt out of place or tried to sort things on your own. You might want a space to be heard, even if letting yourself be seen feels overwhelming. If you’re ready to take a step, I’m here to walk with you.

You've probably been working hard to manage your anger, and are finding yourself more frustrated than ever. The problem with anger is that the harder you try to manage it, the more stubborn it gets. But it's also incredibly misunderstood and there is so much more to learn about it. I don't work only with anger, in fact, a lot of my work with anger has come out of working around something else entirely.

I appreciate that people might be coming to therapy with different preconceptions, goals, past experiences, and/or worries. As starting therapy takes a lot of courage, it is important we go at your pace. As such, our first session together will focus on: Getting to know each other to make sure I am the right fit for you, and exploring the difficulties you would like support with. We might also start to develop your goals and think about the type of therapy best suited to meet these. covering other important aspects such as confidentiality, session length, and timings so we know what to expect from each other.

I work with clients navigating depression, ADHD, and LGBTQ identity stuff—the big feelings, the low motivation, the "is it just me
I work with people who feel a bit stuck, a bit lost, or just a bit “what even is this?” I specialise in supporting LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent professionals who are juggling too much and feeling too little. We’ll make sense of things together—without judgement, jargon, or awkward silences. Therapy with me is about making sense of the mess, the mood swings, the “why am I like this?” moments. We talk. We laugh (sometimes). We gently poke at the hard stuff—grief, identity, low self-worth, burnout—and figure out what’s underneath.

I offer a supportive, neuroaffirming space where you can bring your whole self without fear of judgement. Every therapy journey is different, because every person is different. Some people know exactly what they want from therapy, while others aren’t sure where to start. Either scenario (and anywhere in between!) is okay. In our sessions, you can openly reflect on your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There’s no pressure to share anything before you are ready.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioural therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
