People come when something isn’t sitting right. Anxiety, overthinking, feeling on edge. Relationships can feel stuck or go round in the same loops. If you’re neurodivergent, everyday things can take more effort than expected. I work with individuals and couples. With individuals, we slow things down and look at what’s actually happening day to day. With couples, I use the Gottman Method, focusing on communication and conflict. I’m a BACP accredited integrative counsellor, trained to Level 6 in supervision and Level 4 in counselling, and I also work as a counselling tutor.

I can help with anxiety, depression/low mood, grief and loss, trauma, identity, self-esteem and relationships, amongst other concerns.
Seeking help can be overwhelming, especially for the first time. You may be used to feeling misunderstood, unheard, or unimportant. I aim to help you feel safe and provide a place where you can talk about what's troubling you, without fear of judgment.
I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor: I tailor sessions to your wants and needs, and help you find your strengths as well as work through your struggles. Therapy can be hard at times, but it needn't be boring: I encourage creativity, humour, and bringing your own personality into the room!

Many of my clients are adults who appear to be managing well on the outside - meeting expectations, keeping things moving - while privately feeling exhausted, disconnected, or quietly stuck. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, or burnout, or navigating a significant life transition. Some aren't in crisis; they've simply noticed that something no longer feels right. That life has started to feel more like something to get through than something to be part of. What brings them here is a readiness to understand themselves more deeply, and to begin building a life that feels genuinely theirs.

Sometimes life becomes overwhelming in ways we never expected. Pain can feel endless, as if it’s never going to ease. When things around us begin to shift, we can find ourselves stuck in a place of hopelessness or helplessness, unsure how to move forward.
In those moments, many of us turn inward with harshness. We tell ourselves we shouldn’t feel this way, our emotions are wrong, inconvenient, or too much. We try to keep going, to please others, to hold everything together, and somewhere along the way we lose sight of ourselves. Feelings of stuckness, emptiness, and meaninglessness can quietly take over.

You don’t need to have the right words to begin.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, uncertain, or simply aware that something isn’t quite right. Whatever has brought you here, therapy can offer a space to slow down, speak freely, and begin to make sense of your experience in your own way, with care, curiosity, and space to reflect.

Hello and welcome. How can I help support you? It can be difficult to express our feelings or make sense of what is happening to us. Enabling ourselves to be truly heard is important so that we might explore our difficulties. You may feel that a change is needed. Perhaps you struggle with unhelpful patterns or have difficulty setting boundaries for yourself. Do you replay events, wishing that you had done things differently? Perhaps a past trauma is haunting you. Navigating our challenges can make us feel out of control, lost and frustrated. By working together we can heal, build strength and resilience and feel more fulfilled.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
