Finding the right therapist can feel like a big step, especially when life feels heavy, confusing, or stuck. My aim is to offer a calm, grounded, and non‑judgmental space where you can explore what’s happening for you with honesty and support. I work collaboratively, helping you understand the patterns, emotions, and experiences shaping your life. Together, we look at what is no longer serving you and what new possibilities might emerge. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. If you’re here, you’ve already taken a meaningful first step.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, caught in patterns you don’t fully understand, or unsure why certain emotions keep returning, no matter how gently you try to move them aside. Maybe you react in ways that don’t feel like “you,” or you’re finding it harder to stay calm, motivated, or connected. Many people I support describe anxiety, stress, anger, low motivation, or feeling lost. What they long for is clarity, relief, and real, lasting change to feel grounded, connected, and more like themselves again.

It can be a daunting, nervous and courageous step when accessing psychological support and reading this means that you have already thought about this, which is an achievement! It can sometimes be difficult to prioritise and give importance to our own needs, it can make us feel guilty or undeserving. However, I believe self-care and self-love, are at the root of living a healthy well-being. I have a positive working attitude and strongly believe in creating an open and honest therapeutic relationship. I use different psychological frameworks and tailor my approach to effectively support my clients with their psychological distress.

I can offer that space in a warm and friendly setting - face to face, online or by phone and email.
Mu name is Emma and I believe that everyone has the ability to find answers within themselves. My practice is characterised by creativity, utilising techniques such as sand tray work, art, fairy tales, and metaphors. Importantly, you don’t need to be an artist to engage in this creative process. I will offer a warm friendly space, a comfy sofa and a cuppa for you to relax, so if talking is your thing, then we can do that too. There is no pressure to be creative in our sessions, its just another way of expressing and exploring our feelings. I specialise in working with children and young people as well as adults.

I'm Nakiece - founder of MANTASCreative Therapies: qualified creative therapist, and space-holder for real conversations and deeper healing. I support children, young people, and adults who are navigating grief, anxiety, trauma, identity, and moments of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. This is by no means an exhaustive list. My approach is a combination of dramatherapy and talking therapy. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, gently making sense of your experiences and how they may be affecting your relationships. I support individuals and couples facing stress, anxiety, trauma, and early childhood challenges. A key focus of my work is supporting relationships that are experiencing strain or disconnection. This may include communication breakdown, where conversations become difficult, unproductive or conflict-driven; a decline in intimacy, where emotional or physical closeness has faded; or broken trust, including the complex and often painful aftermath of affairs. I help you gain insight into your thoughts and behaviours, while guiding you to develop practical skills to cope, repair and move forward.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
