As a counsellor, I practice in a pluralistic way which means I draw upon different theoretical approaches when I work with you as an individual – after all, there is only one of you in the world! My aim is to attune to your individual needs and I strive to work in an authentic down to earth way that is interactive and collaborative. Counselling can be daunting so I will work with you at your pace, offering you a space that is non-judgemental, respectful and confidential. Everyone is different, but having a space to talk and actually be heard can be extremely powerful and healing; leading to a greater understanding of yourself.
Experience of working with teenagers and adults across a huge scope of areas which particular expertise in attachment, addiction, anxiety, depression, autism, ADD, ADHD, PDA, work related stress and relationship issues. I am also trained in mindfulfulness, meditation and somatic work, which I incorporate into my work, when relevant.
I work with clients to tailor therapy to a duration that suits them, carefully reviewing the work together at regular intervals and reviewing goals. It can be tricky to know from the outset how many sessions are wanted/needed but this can be discussed from the first telephone consultation, which is free so you can decide if you would like to work together.
