I'm a fully qualified music therapist in Edinburgh, registered with the Health and Care Professions Service (HCPC). Within my work, I have a special interest in adapting therapy for those with disabilities and neurodivergency; every person is unique, so I believe their therapy should be unique to match. I use music therapy to help you explore, understand and express your emotions. Together we can build a deeper understanding of what's brought you to where you are now, why you're struggling, and what coping techniques can help.
Music therapy provides communication and connection without words, helping you to explore complex and difficult memories and interactions through a powerful, expressive means. The therapist-client relationship forms a safe space for emotional exploration, developing communication and interaction skills, and exercising emotional regulation.

My work is built on a combination of music therapy and mentalisation-based therapy, with a framework of 'Anti-Oppressive Practice' and 'Unconditional Positive Regard'. Your therapy journey will start with building a secure therapeutic relationship, and will then use music and talking to help with emotional expression and exploration, and identity building and validation.
