Welcome to Authentic Counselling. I am a pluralistic counsellor based in Carnoustie, Angus. As a pluralistic counsellor I hold the view that different things work for different people at different points in their life and that no client's experience is the same. I utilise methods and techniques from a number of different modalities in order to best meet the counselling needs/preferences of the clients whom engage with my service. Recently completed children matters course allowing me to work therapeutically with children from the age of 4. Completed couples counselling course in 2022 building on my experience and range of methods.
9 years experience in generic counselling and have 3 years specialist training in domestic abuse and trauma recently co- facilitating the NHS survive and thrive. Recently completed my EMDR training and am now offering this within my private practice.
Authenticity is a key part of how I work I feel that by being myself I encourage clients to be themselves. I aim to create the type of space where someone can be his or her authentic self, at least for a hour. Hopefully they will struggle a little less with showing others that version of themselves outside of the therapy room. Recently qualified in EMDR
