Hi, I’m Ellen, a Clinical Psychologist with ten years of experience working for the NHS. I specialise in supporting children, young people and adults with anxiety, low mood, and self-esteem. I have a particular interest in supporting people living with long-term health conditions. In addition to being a qualified Clinical Psychologist, I am an accredited Cognitive Behaviour Therapist. I also have Foundation and Intermediate qualifications in Systemic Family Therapy.
Initially, the aim of our sessions will be to get to know you better and to find out more about what you would like some support with. I will use my experience as a therapist to help us to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties. We will then use this understanding to find ways to support you to make changes.
I’m aware that starting therapy can be anxiety provoking, especially as we might be talking about some sensitive or difficult things. I aim to use an empathic and collaborative approach to support you. It is important that you feel comfortable talking within our appointments, so please let me know if you have any questions that I might be able to help with.
