I am a UKCP-registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over 14 years of experience, working with individuals who are interested in exploring the deeper origins of their problems.
In psychoanalytic therapy we delve into the impact of early relationships with significant others and how they shape our thoughts, feelings and behaviours in the present. Through regular sessions—held once or twice a week over several months or even years—we work together to explore these internalized patterns and change them if they prove to be unhelpful.
Psychotherapy is ultimately about finding meaning in your life experiences.
The initial meeting is an opportunity to get to know each other. We will discuss the difficulties which prompted you to contact me. I will also ask about your personal history and past relationships, including experiences from your early life. This foundational understanding helps set the stage for our work together.
In our ongoing sessions, you are encouraged to share whatever comes to your mind—thoughts, dreams, feelings, events, memories or - at times - nothing. My approach is informed by a variety of perspectives, including relational psychoanalysis, attachment theory, neuropsychoanalysis and philosophical ideas.
