I offer psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and work on the premise that there is more to be known about each of us than we might be aware of. My approach is to try and understand how you experience the world and others. As we get to know each other, we will find a way of working together that identifies your struggles and the choices you have in relation to those. I work with the whole person, not with a collection of symptoms. I believe that while your symptoms are important, they are not the whole truth about who you are. The aim of psychoanalytic psychotherapy is to offer you choices and freedom about how you live your life.
I am a senior trainee, in my 4th year of intensive training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Guild of Psychotherapists in London. I hold a BA and PhD in English Literature, and have worked extensively in the education sector. My interests are in the creative use of psychotherapy, and the psychological challenges of migration and cultural difference.
In sessions with me you are invited to speak what comes to your mind freely, and to let your mind wander. This can be very liberating, but also connect you to painful feelings. Nobody can face those feelings alone. I will be there, with you, helping to bear what feels unbearable, to find a way through your difficulties and into the life you want to live.
