Finding your CBT therapist can be a daunting task but knowing if they have the correct credentials is harder. Efficacy ensures people get better. Efficacy is a national team of BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapists (the gold standard to practice CBT in the UK). We ensure that everyone is receiving evidence-based therapy. Our CBT therapists are mental health professionals with an additional Post-Graduate degree specifically in CBT. Accredited as a BABCP practitioners we help people achieve their therapy goals in the widest context. We are excited by our published recovery rates with 85% of people achieving recovery, a phenomenal result when you think that the NHS's target for recovery by CBT is 50%. Our services to the general public dovetail our provision to organisations - from blue light services, GPs with mental health problems, corporate firms, rehabilitation case management teams, CCG primary care contracts, and private medical insurance.

Integrating CBT with other modalities does not have an evidence-base. Keep in mind, in the UK counsellors or psychotherapists can say they do CBT, but not all have a postgraduate degree specifically in CBT (with BABCP accreditation)... they do in Efficacy. What makes us different is our purity, preventing drift - making sure we are focussed on recovery, keeping to the fidelity of the model, and securing effective CBT therapist. We ensure that every person has an opportunity to access disorder specific formulation cognitive behavioural therapy, rather than a collection of tools and techniques. As stated, all our therapists are accredited and we ensure they continually meet the rigorous standards to maintain yearly re-accreditation as a CBT therapist. A common misconception about CBT is that it only deals with the "here and now". The reality is that our past experiences need to be understood to make changes today. We need to understand how did we get "here and now" what are we going to do about it? This is called formulation-driven CBT, provided by accredited CBT therapists.

Our Client Liaison Team are here to answer all your questions to find out if CBT is right for you, and book with a therapist if it is right for you. All calls are obligation free, and the team provide help with first steps in getting better. Our success is your success stories, so we are more than happy to take a call now, making time to find the best way forward. CBT always starts with an assessment. This is a semi-structured set of questions that helps us to understand if it is right to start treatment, and share what that treatment might entail. Once agreed, interventions are targeted at getting you better straight away, with long term changes. Usually CBT is focussed on developing flexibility in how we think about things and approaching events and triggers differently. A treatment plan is flexible, taken at your pace that can be ended (or suspended) when you like. On average, most people require 10 session to get to recovery or reach their treatment goals. The recovery range of sessions is from 4 and in less than 5% of cases exceeds 16 sessions.
