I offer long term, open ended and short term face to face Psychodynamic counselling/psychotherapy to individuals and couples, who as a result of traumatic life events experienced in both childhood and adulthood have felt they have been unable to cope with or make sense of life. I provide therapy for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety, PTSD. Individuals who are genuinely interested in exploring themselves and are looking for self knowledge and awareness as to why they behave the way they do, as well as trying to understand and change "negative" behaviours, will benefit most from the therapy that I offer.

I am a High Intensity CBT Therapsit, currently working towards BABCP accreditation. CBT focuses on a problem-solving approach to help people learn how to react in a different, more positive way to the situations that can lead to problems. By learning new strategies, you can also learn how to change your behaviour and reactions, and how to think about things in a more positive way, thereby improving your life across a range of aspects. Depending on the person in question, and the problems that they have, CBT can be conducted together with a wide range of techniques

Hello, all are welcome. Anxiety, stress, depression and anger can creep up on us or appear quite suddenly. Sometimes life just gets too hard and we cannot cope. You may not even know why you feel the way you do, even so, talking with someone impartial can really help. I believe that mental health is no different to physical health in that systems can become unbalanced and give us problems. Support from a Counsellor can help to rebalance your mind. You may feel unsure but I encourage you to come and meet me, then see how you feel.

You may be feeling uncertain about relationships with others or about how to cope with life events or a bereavement. You may be fearful about the future in today's uncertain world. Stress, depression and anxiety are commonly experienced by most people facing family conflict, work/life balance issues, loss of a job, illness or disability. It may feel impossible to manage these new or difficult issues and to find a way forward. You may be thinking about starting counselling for the first time and may naturally worry about what the first session will be like. I will always listen and support you with whatever you are going through.

Sometimes, for a variety of reasons, children & young people can develop fears or worries that may seem at odds with their peers. Often, they will try and manage the best they can, but developmentally this is a big ask. Working with a specialist in this field allows a child or young person to be supported from where they are today - in a way that makes specific sense to them. Sessions seek to help clients to start to process their emotional experiences which may be impacting their ability to thrive.

I am an integrative psychotherapist that works with children and adults. I work intuitively and use whatever theory & practice best suits my clients' needs. I believe that when we are able to make sense of our responses to life, we are then able to choose and journey towards a healthier happy future. I have been counselling since 2013 and have worked in several schools with parents and children. If you are experiencing anxiety, depression or keep finding yourself in patterns of behaviour that are hindering you from your full potential, I would love to offer some support and explore possibilities.

Many people go through periods of times when they feel vulnerable, anxious, stressed, depressed or just unhappy. Sometimes these are triggered by obvious causes, like a breakup in a relationship, job loss or a bereavement, while at other times the underlying causes seem opaque, especially when life appears to be fulfilling and good.We carry around sadness, guilt, shame, pain, darkness, anger, despair and in some cases a sense of desperation. It is possible to feel relief, to let some of the pain go, to gain strength and confidence, have the ability to heal and grow so you can live a life without anxiety worry and horrible thoughts.

Seeking help is not always easy, but it's the first step in helping you find the tools to tackle the challenges life brings. Counselling can help you renew your sense of well-being and discover methods to heal and care for your inner self. Whether you are dealing with a difficult situation, struggling to make sense of what's going on, feeling depressed, stressed out or dealing with painful emotions, therapy can be the key to help you through your journey. My core belief is that most people have a sense of their own well being and know when

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma, relationship difficulties and other issues. I offer a 'holistic' way of working, exploring how the mind and body are connected by using different techniques and approaches. By the end of our therapeutic relationship you will leave feeling lighter, powerful and more confident. I will provide a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and any root causes whch may have led you to becoming 'stuck' or lose a sense of who you are.

We all need help from time to time, and you shouldn't be embarrassed for asking for it. I am a down to earth and compassionate person, who understands what it is like to need a boost. In my years I have truly heard it all, and my biggest goal is to empower rather than judge my clients. One of my favourite quotes comes from Marisa Peer who explains that “to be happy you have to make peace with your past, love the present and feel so excited about the future”. No problem is too big to solve and I have witnessed counselling change the lives of so many people and I know I can help change yours too.

I specialise in working with children and teenagers struggling with anxiety and/or trauma. I support parents and carers alongside work with your child. I work creatively and playfully when appropriate and if my client welcomes it. I feel it is important to get to know each child as a unique individual and build on their strengths in our work together. I work integratively, drawing upon several therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), depending on what feels appropriate for each individual's needs.

My approach to psychotherapy is psychoanalytic, focusing on the notion of the unconscious which suggests that we aren’t always aware of what moves us. Our true motives, beliefs, desires and fears can be hidden from us, having a powerful effect on our experience in the world and sometimes causing us pain. Expressing freely what is in one's heart and thinking deeply about life with a psychotherapist often leads to revelations which, in turn, may provide relief from emotional suffering and a different way of experiencing oneself and others.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, who is a free spirited and creative person. My professional background varies from working with mild to severe adult mental health, to working with special needs and hard to reach children and young people in education. During times of uncertainty surrounding us at the moment, where multiple challenges are thrown in our direction, feeling overwhelmed, out of sync, heightened stressed levels, and increased anxiety are very normal. These feelings may have been apparent beforehand and now feel more intense.

My aim is to support you through any difficulty you are experiencing now. I offer a warm, non-judgemental and confidential setting where you can talk about the issues that are distressing you. Together I hope we can gain an understanding of what you want from life, what fulfils you and what holds you back. Normal people go to therapy. They worry about life, relationships, family, fulfilment, have suffered trauma, have caused trauma, have loved and lost. It is entirely reasonable to have times in your life when you’re finding it difficult to cope. Yet going to therapy is a brave decision and looking at this profile is the first step.

How can I find a therapist in E4?

Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

What type of therapist is right for me?

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
