Well done on taking the most difficult decision to access counselling. Sometimes we feel totally overwhelmed by the challenges in life and seeking professional help seems like a momentous decision. However, when in crisis we need more than talking to our friends and family who may not always know how to listen without giving well meaning advice or simply may not know what to say. You may be feeling isolated and lonely, frightened or anxious. You may have temporarily lost your way. I will ensure that you are carefully listened to and I will accept you as you are, without judgement. Together we will find a way forward.

About Me
Are you feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in a cycle of anxiety and exhaustion? You may look like you’re coping on the outside — holding it all together for work, family, and others — but inside, it feels like you’re constantly running on empty.
I support women who are navigating anxiety, burnout, and the pressure of always being “the strong one.” You don’t have to keep pushing through alone.

Maybe you keep finding yourself in the same painful patterns — in relationships, at work, or in how you feel about yourself — and you're not sure why. Perhaps you're neurodivergent or highly sensitive, and the world often feels like too much. Or you've tried talking things through before, but something deeper still hasn't been reached. You don't need to have the words for it yet. That sense that something needs attention is enough of a place to start — and you're very welcome here.

I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. I provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment within which you can begin to explore and make sense of what is troubling you. Therapy is very much an individual process, so there are no one-size-fits-all answers or solutions. It is about us designing your therapy together to suit your specific needs, and help you work in a way that feels natural to you.

My goal as a therapist is to help you explore the emotional questions in your life so you can understand, with greater clarity, why you feel like you do. My practice offers a non-judgemental, confidential setting to reflect on what has brought you to this point in your life, and to consider your potential to live differently in the future. Coming from a background in the arts I pay close attention to the narratives we build and the disguises we assume to protect ourselves from pain. Understanding how these patterns are formed can help you decide which aspects of your life you want to hold onto, and which you would rather let go.

I have worked as a psychotherapist for over 30 years in the NHS, voluntary sector and privately. I trained as a psychoanalyst having worked in the mental health charity sector initially. I worked for some 25 years running a community-based counselling service in central London. I like to work with a range of people, usually on a once weekly or more frequent basis. I work with people who are seeking to understand themselves better - their relationships with others as well as with themselves. I hope that I can help them make sense of difficulties or challenges in their lives in order to live more fully and creatively.

I take a holistic approach to therapy, which means I look at the whole of your experience, not just the immediate problem or symptom. That means we can explore how different parts of your life connect and impact each other, rather than focusing only on quick fixes. The aim is to create space for deeper understanding and meaningful, lasting change.

Sometimes life leaves us with things we need space to make sense of. Something may have happened; illness, loss, a relationship changing, a life transition, or something you didn't expect, or you may simply be tired of going round the same thoughts. Whatever brings you, it can arrive as it is: messy, unfinished or hard to explain. You don't need the right words or a tidy explanation before we start. I work with adults navigating anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, trauma, life transitions and the emotional impact of long-term health conditions. Together we find space to think out loud and work out what you want from here.
