I’m a highly qualified and professionally experienced psychotherapist/counsellor and psychologist. I have abundant experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures in the NHS and the private settings, for both the short-term and long-term periods. Rather than offering clients so-called expert’s version of advice, I offer therapeutic work tailored to suit the individual needs of clients, whilst acting as a facilitator to the clients’ process to find their own ways to deal with their issues. This will lead the clients to experience self-discovery and self-acceptance while strengthening their self-healing process.

I am a certified Counsellor, specialising in Integrative Counselling. My therapeutic approach to each individual client is to bring together different elements of specific therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, Humanistic Approach and Mindfulness. There is no single approach that can treat an individual in all situations. I take the view that each person needs to be considered and Integrative Therapy techniques must be tailored to his or her personal needs and circumstances. I have been working as a personal Therapist for over 10 years.

I work with children who experience anxiety and stress. This can be because of school trauma, family trauma and all the small disconnects that build to leave your child not living life to the fullest of their being. I work 1:1 and with a family programme called ‘Building Loving Foundations’ that I designed to give families the tools to create really loving communication and ways to back each other. I work online.

Life is complex and at times, it can be difficult to navigate the waters of this journey to know and understand the place you have in this world. Many factors can affect the journey such as depression, anxiety, trauma and relationships with self and others. I offer a non-judgemental, empathic confidential and compassionate space where you can expect support and containment to explore themes and patterns around self-destructive thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Therapy helps us to develop self-compassion, to quieten our critical mind and to experience a calmer and more peaceful life. It is about learning to accept ourselves

If you are seeking counselling and psychotherapy, it may be because you are dealing with a specific issue or going through a particularly difficult phase for which you need support. You may have tried to resolve things by yourself but somehow, it didn’t quite work out. You may have found yourself in the all-too-familiar place of slipping back to your old patterns of thoughts, feeling and behaviors despite all the promises and repeated attempts at changing them. Or you may feel that we are doing OK, presenting to the world a well-functioning mask of personal efficiency or professional success, but deep feeling empty and alone.

I am currently offering online therapy. I have ten years of experience working in mental health and in supporting people to identify, better understand and work through any difficulties, challenges or points of ‘stuckness’ they may be experiencing in their lives. Therapy is often about exploring different perspectives and developing the skills and tools we need to help navigate life’s challenges to allow us to move forward. I am flexible and collaborative in my approach to therapy because, in my experience, therapy is most helpful to people when it is tailored to their specific needs and the hopes they may have for the process.

If you are here, you may be struggling in some way, and wanting some support from someone who is not already in your life. You might be looking for a therapist because of negative patterns that you seem to be repeating, or because of unhelpful and difficult narratives you keep telling yourself. Maybe you have struggled to feel content for a while, because you need somewhere to step away to and reflect, or because you’d like to work through a specific issue.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
